You know...I find myself looking less and less forward to Prince news these days. It just seems as if he's completely lost touch with reality...not just mostly as before. There is just so much more great music out there than "3121"...I just don't think Prince challenges me any more. i don't think he's lost touch with reality - i just think he's in a different reality than i as a fan am interested in following him into. he wants his fans to pretend like they can drop hundreds of dollars on him at a time, but he doesn't give anything special back except for what he coulda done at a $7.77 paisley park party attended by a buncha no-name local schmoes (which is preferable on all accounts!). i hope this is all just part of the "3121 concept" and he moves far beyond this nonsense with the next project. till then, i'm on a prince vacay.

Paris Hilton is not one of his peers. Neither is Jessica Simpson or even Boufance. You know he preaches out against the music these type of people are making yet he serves them champagne from chocolate handles. He talks about "real" musicians yet invites the fake ones to his home. There is a difference between the celebrity he is and the "celebrity" of say Lindsay Lohan. Christian Zombie Vampires

[Edited 6/21/06 9:13am] EXACTLY!!!!! co-sign and otherwise. us lowly fans have the same capability of wilding out at a concert as well, it ain't relegated to airheaded celebrity scum only. all of us who've been to a prince concert can vouch for the fact that there's been a few bad apples within the crowds from time to time, whether they be drunk or rude or just plain fucked up; hell, i told ya'll about one of my instances about 3 months ago, dealing with the two drunken women in chicago! this kinna thing isn't new in the least, so i dunno why those of you who are boo-hooing over this are up in arms. seriously. Prince is a stranger to you and you have no information on the relationship or exchange Prince has with these people. It's really nobody's business. In addition, just because he may not care for their music does not mean he has to hate them as people.

So you people believe this so called "fight"?
The whole story sounds like it's made up to me, or GREATLY exaggerated. Who really gives a flying fuck? When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

I really do not see why some folks are upset or offended by this bullshit story. Ticket prices and record promotion (or the lack thereof) have nothing to do with this particular story.
Club members did get a chance to attend and some did. It's not like every person who's in the club could have attended even if it was a "members only" gig. There isn't any difference in these celebs going to a gig and getting in free or paying cash at the door than if the show was at PP and fans or just plain lookee-loos who had hook-ups with employees of PP got in free or paid someone on the downlow to get in a gig. There have been plenty of posts over the years from people who are not diehard fans who have gotten to see shows who didn't even really want to be there but got dragged by a "friend". ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

No wonder I couldn't find a concert review in the concerts forum. It was here in the Prince forum. Man, if I was a moderator, I'd rule this place with an iron fist. People would hate me. I was a second-chance ticket purchaser.. thank the lord (as you prob read in the article linked above). On another note, this press story is wayyy overblown. I saw Paris and PD and Lindsay.... there was not apparent scuffle. They just sat there, talked, text-messaged, drank, the usual. And then they were gone. -- who knew (or cared) why. That was it. Nothing to see here. Irrelevant. Come here, babe.. yeah...

Here's a thought -- anyone attending a small club show like this should be forced to list Prince's first five albums and his last five albums. Answer correctly, you're in. Answer incorrectly, and it's like drinking holy water from wrong grail.

I just can't believe that Paris Hilton was invited... Just thank Jehovah that Paris didn't get up and sing that new piece of ear death she calls music. She would definitely put the HO in Jehovah. And now, I'm officially going to hell. And I might even be banned from NPGMC just for saying that here. They're EVERYWHERE!
