There's also the aspect of "maybe I'm doomed to make the same mistakes as my father".

But it's not really delved into in GB.
I gather you supposed to take that as a continuance from PR.

But again its the money issue--"so u wasnt makin any money, we were gettin by..."

He knows the right way to go, but money gets in the way. Even today.

He's got the issues with money ,pussy and
plenty more.

I think he'll always have problems with this. We are human we all do. I think it's ok to want these things sometimes..it is apart of life but the trouble comes when these things overtake you and motivates you so much that you get greedy with money, or do things in promise of money that do not honor God.

As for women well...Prince is a man, men want to sleep with women that is fine and natural..the problem comes when you start hurting others when that lust overtakes you.

Prince has alot of temptations in his line of work...but I think he knows in his heart what is right.

Excellent thread, Krystal.

I think your point about the conflict really being an inner one is something borne out in his other projects: the "God" dialogue on Temptation, the Gemini character, the Lovesexy Tour halves...

Thanks for that.

He used a similar theme again in the Batman era videos. The "Gemini" character in the Batdance & Partyman vids portrayed his good/bad sides.

Man, that would have been an amazing end, if it turned out that Prince (sorry, "The Kid") had been imagining Morris Day/Tyler Durden, and that he didn't really exist.

"The first rule of Glam Slam is you do not talk about Glam Slam."

He almost did do exactly that!
There was a little known movie project Prince was briefly working on in 1986
to tie in with the Camille album, where Prince would play both himself and
Camille. Only at the end of the movie would we find out they weren't brothers
but 2 sides of the same split personality.

Now a Camille movie would have been fun. Was this movie The Dawn, or something else? (Forgive me if this is in The Vault - I haven't looked at that book for a while, and I don't have it with me.)

well i dont know about y'all but i decided to heed prince's advice, i went out and i found the most graffiti-infested bridge i could find. i expected to find ingrid chavez, but instead i found three junkies who stole my cellphone then stabbed me in the arm with an aids-infested needle. i tried to think of a prince song that could have soundtracked the scene....i thought maybe "i love u in me"

now that's funny
