'Fury' Feature video on Myspace

For all those who have not seen it "fury" is the featured video on Myspace. Do you think it will effect 3121 sales?

I never really explained me reason which is a no no on this site smile
Myspace is pretty much used by young ppl, and quite frankly most young ppl don't give a damn about Prince. All they think they know about him is what they saw on the Dave Chappell skit. And their general perception is that prince is a midget pretty boy who's gay because he wears ruffled shirts(notice how i said wears and not wore). And most of the prince fans on myspace are prince fanatics with 454164676 pictures of the guy and like 10 video clips of him so they probably already have the album. In conclusion, the Fury video will do just about aboslutely nothing.

If Myspace is really as popular as the media claims it is, it could help in getting Fury some radio airplay.
Let's face it folks, that's the only thing that's gonna have a real effect on 3121's sales.
Purple Rain didn't sell million of copies simply because it is a great album. Massive airplay that Warner Bros. paid quite handsomely for, a hit movie and videos in heavy rotation on MTV are what propelled it's sales into the stratosphere.
It's not a difficult equation to grasp and it's just as true today as it was back then. Lots of airplay equals more sales, little or no airplay equals less. There are exceptions, but generally that's the way it is.
The state of the music industry today is far sadder than Prince's record sales. Again, I say enjoy the man's music and stop worrying so much about how many records he sells or how he promotes himself.

Nope. Nobody listents to the radio. It is now an obsolete way of getting millions of people to hear music.

why do so many people care about his sales? i admit, its nice when someone you like gets the commercial success you think they deserve but all the obsessing on how well it does on the charts is weird. y'all gettin' a cut of that or something?

personally, i think prince is getting all the commercial success he deserves. he's done little to no promotion, he's done no tour, he's been so busy brushing celeb's egos that he's not even supported his own work. whatever...you wanna chart you gotta work. it ain't about just making a record, releasing it, and raking in the millions. this ain't 1985.

in contrast to purple rain, perhaps not. in contrast to 2006, however, 1985 was a banner year for ol' princey.
