Batdance Appreciation Thread Batdance is the quintessential Prince song. I have no idea why so many fans hate it.
It's funky, witty, quirky...just an overall fun song. Not to mention the kick-a$$ video. 
Show some love for Batdance.

One opf my alltime favorite songs. The part where it switches from rock to funk ("Stop the press, who is that?") is so cool. It sounds like music played sideways to me.
I've never heard anything else like that part. | |

Great fun. 
I like the final edit too - it works well, although there are elements of the unedited bootleg which really appeal to me (like the mini clips of Rave, for example, and some of the additional film dialogue) | |

My favorite part of the song is the changeover from the frantic 1st half, to the sexy percussion of the "Vicki Vale" 2nd half. I *LOVE* that bit. The entire song kicks total ass, but only P would completely change the entire beat and melody in a theme song for a summer tent-pole movie.
And "Vicki Waiting" is the best song on the soundtrack. Can't get enough of it. |

I know I shouldn't be sayin this, but that bad-ass guitar solo combined with watching him perform it in the video (especially this one lil move he does with his hips for one milli-second) is the first and only time I was actually turned on by the man

batdance feels like prince wrote a song, wrote the obligatory "extended version" then got rid of the song entirely leaving only the aimless extended meandering at the end. its pointless and boring | |
