Haven't heard that one The first time I heard it was while watching the movie. That scene turned me off so much I wanted to vomit. I can't stand listening to it because of it

The original outtake is one of those songs that you can't imagine how it went from what it was to what it became nearly 10 years later.
I can't say I hate the released version, but I stopped liking it as much once I heard the original version.

I love the GB performance..... Any time where Prince play's "Daddy's naughty little girl" is cool by me. The '81 version is straight up Dirty Mind/Controversy sound, you'll love it. // [Edited 6/4/06 13:03pm]

The original version kicks this version's tail by about 1000x. It was so pretentious and bratty, I had to love it. Would have fit onto Controversy pretty well. Ooh, little darlin' if you're
free 4 a couple of hours (Free 4 a couple of hours) If U ain't busy 4 the next 7 years (Next 7 years) Say, let's pretend we're married and go all night

The GB version I've always disliked but I love the 81 version. When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

It's one of his "kitchen sink" numbers: Jimi Hendrix beat sample, '50s ad keyboards, sax & rock guitar loops and his campy falsetto.
It's great. How's the original different? (hi, BlackBuddy ) . [Edited 6/4/06 19:46pm]

For me the two biggest WTF moments are Wedding Feast and Bob George.

hehe, i thought the "wtf?" was aimed towards the scene in graffiti bridge during that..."battle", when the song was playing and prince was flouncing about.
i can stomach the demo version from '81 better than the '90 version.

What does the 81 version sound like?
Is that the one that starts out with the screeching and subsequent counting?

You like the music cuz it's a straight up rip off of Jimi Hendrix's "Little Miss Lover" Not A Newbie, Just Reinvented
