Tamar, Prince...RED HEADED STEP CHILD

What did yall think of that song on GMA today? I gotta be honest, Tamar dont seem that talented and not that much of a singer. She reminds me of a performer, moreso. But, I like that song! I love the rock edge that it has. What do you think?

I really liked the performance -- I think Tamar was great on stage -- she made a bad choice with the outfit (it didn't flatter her figure) -- but she did perform well ... IMO

I wasn't impressed by Tamar at all! If I don't see or hear more proof of her talent b4 August, I won't be in the least interested in getting her album.

Gohi

Prince (being the lil bitch he can be) probably told her to wear that so he'd look amazing by comparison. I can just imagine it:

Prince: You look great, sweetie smile
Tamar: I... I can't feel my legs! omfg
Prince: Oh yeah, it's supposed to be tight. neutral Trust me, the fams are gonna love it. cool
Tamar: Well, if you say so. biggrin

*Tamar walks off to get ready for the show*

Prince: Oh lawd. lol

I'm not sure how some of you would define talent, because she clearly has a good singing voice and if you knew a little about her bio, she plays the piano, writes and composes music.

Now as far as the outfit, that was a pretty bad choice, but the song itself is pretty good.

I loved the song and Tamar is a great talent. To say she is not a great talent is to say that Prince does not know talent.

Tamar is a good singer. I can only assume that those who say she isn't are used to the kind of souless, mindless, pseudo-sexy, masturbatory, gymnastic vocal slop that halfwits like Beyonce spew forth these days....hey, who needs taste? just shake your arse and cover three octaves with every syllable....doesn't really matter if you actually hit the notes. Tamar isn't the greatest singer on earth but she does actually have some depth and power in her voice and, even more rarely, she doesn't try to oversing every fucking line just because she can.

Um, you're talking about a man who made Vanity a lead singer, then Appolonia, Okay, it started to pick up when Bonnie and Rosie Gaines joined the show. IMO Rosie had the best voice out of all of them. Tamar is good, but I wouldn't go so far as to say she is "great." She's adequate at best. Prince does know talent, however, his history of growing bored with them keeps me from developing any sort of attachment with any of them. Anyone up for a pool as to how long Tamar will last?

GangstaFam

The 3 times I've seen her live she totally kicked my ass and her voice was fantastic. Live television performances are tricky and not the best gauge of a performer's ability. That said, I thought that "Red Headed Stepchild" was the best of the 3 songs played.
