No one can create such
captivatingly erotic and insightful
imagery. Go from one spectrum to another
without haste. Play such emotionally charged guitar and also tone it down without losing the feeling.

He is such a Genius org. so ahead of his time. He can do any type of music and he's always Fresh. He's very innovative . There truly isn't anybody as Talented as he is.

Seriously, I would have to say that his ability to write awesome lyrics and that voice and his abiltity to play that guitar and piano. Together, these qualities make him irrisistable and above all the rest. He seems really passionate about his music...when he plays...you can see the emotions in his face. You can tell he really loves what he is doing. I just think he's totally cool. Someone I look up to...makes me feel better about my writing. He inspires me to pursue my dreams...well, him and my best friend. Thats what quality he has over the rest...he inspires me to pursue my dreams...he inspires me to believe in what I know in my heart is good stuff. Prince rocks!

Prince's special quality is his being a good steward of the talents God gave him -- not burying them but instead multiplying them over and over and over again...

I think it's the webbed toes and the club foot.

To my opinion it is quite easy to answer...
If he is not restricted to any contractual obligation he is able to move way ahead of what you hear in the charts. Ok, some songs are of "low quality", but they are all genuine. The key is that he is the producer of his work, there is no-one telling him: Do this and that -> for marketing purposes.
Anyway if you ask other people what they like most about their favorite artist, they will most likely tell you that it is about the success. Some may tell you that it is about the shows. Funny that most of them think that a good show is the one that gets the songs close to the CD recording.
I have always seen his CD's as a sort of guidelines, just that you know the lead line and lyrics of a song. Than he invites you to a show where he gives you a different version of each song, almost every night. And then...
He books a club to jam a little bit and show you that he is a musician and knows to play the instruments. Same applies to the band members. All of the learn different stuff to be played on the spot, jamming like ya know.

Check out the live DVD from Madonna. There is not to much live feeling except for the sound itself. The songs are more or less the same as on the record. How boring...

This is a very subjective question because while us 3,000 or so orgers may think Prince is above the rest most people in the world do not feel the same.

That said I think Prince's most special quality is his ability to perform live.

Prince is creatively funky -- period. Keep the Funk Alive!!!
