The last weeks i have seen two different versions of the 'Fury' video run by.

One did contain a storyline with some images that the most frigid ones would consider 'erotic', the other one being a plain performance video.

As far as i can see the version with the storyline (some shots of a woman in bed) is withdrawn, and the performance only version is the ones showing right now on music channels.

That 'switch' gives me the scary feeling Prince is censoring his video's. Maybe as a result of fellow JW's asking for it (on housequake.com there has been a lot of discussion about this subject).

Its really time Prince starts to follow his soul and intuition again, instead of letting himselve be adjusted by some dogmatic, sectarian view on reality. Get a grip Prince, and choose for reality, you need it.

yeah yeah, we had this discussion on housequake a month or two ago and everyone was quaking in their boots. then he turned up on american idol performing "lolita" with the twins.

Obviously if they had that much power Prince would still be knocking on doors. Remember, JW's have to knock on doors most of their lives. Prince has only visited one house, for what I have learned.

The sexuality of his music is still pretty strong, and there's the point about the Twinz and his woman, with their sexy short skirts and the like. You look at most JW's and they dress like old ladies.

Yes, he's been doing that for ages. You should have, maybe you did well because you really shouldn't, been to the 1998 shows with that awful preaching and lyric changing for The Cross, Purple Rain and more. That was my definitive turning point from Prince.

Isn't it just possible that the first version of the video was withdrawn because it wasn't very good? It premiered on German TV and that was the only time it was seen I believe. A lot of people thought the storyline with the woman made no sense and halted the flow of the video - perhaps Prince and Universal thought the same and simply cut that storyline out. There is absolutely no evidence that it was cut in response to JW pressure - that seems to me to come from people always looking for ammo to attack Prince's JW beliefs. As for not cussing, may I remind you that Crystal Ball is available for download from Prince's Musicology store, cussing and all. Wierd the JWs don't press him to edit that, huh? Or perhaps it's because they don't pressure his decisions at all...

the clip i saw of "darling nikki" from 2000 didn't seem jehovafied in the least. it was kinda murky footage, but geneva was out there dancing next to prince with a magazine.

i think the larrification was a gradual process that really climaxed with TRC...seemingly, anyway...

It's still a valid concern, in my view. Is he or isnt he a Witness for the prosecution of the unbelievers?
Why? Not to butt in on his right to a religious free choice. and not because he makes worse music - 3121 and Musicology were very inspired albums in my opinion.
But, if he still is - then we might never get another Crystal Ball compilation!
