Let's work. Something very teasy about the bass. Seems so simple...
One day there was an interview in a magazine called 'Bass Player', where a journalist was allowed in Paisley Park and Prince told him about his music gear and his ideas about bass playing. What struck me, was that Prince appears to often use synths for basses, because bass guitars can't get that low. Then, Prince said that he thinks that there should be a very intimate relationship between a bass player and the one playing the keys. That's exactly my experience as a keyboard player! At last, Prince played the 'Let's Work' line for the reporter, which the latter said to be an amazing experience, though it didn't have the magic touch it has on the record.  | |
