Celebration 2000...U Got The Love.... at the end of this song...someone starts to play a song. This starts with like 30 seconds left at the End of You Got The Love. Then just as U can barely hear people starting to sing the song, the player stops and tell the 7 people who were singing it to leave cuz it was a test. All the people who knew the song should leave. Well I knew the but be damned if I can name it or the original singer. I thought It was Judy in Disguise but I was trippin...it's ain't.
hint: it's like some 80's song or summin....little bouncy harpsichord(?) riff or summin. Can someone help me with the name of this song, for it will drive me absolutely insane if this information is not found out. [Edited 6/9/06 19:42pm]

Maybe it's me, but I can't work out what you are referring to ...
... Prince performed one concert on June 13 at the 2000 Celebration. There was no song, as far as I'm aware called 'U Got The Love' played. A bit more detail might help ... ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

Man I wish this was on a DVD or CD because that was the best week. Erika Badu, Common, Alicia Keys...my GOD it was tight! I loved it when P came up and sang "The Light" with Common. WHAT A WEEK.... Prime aka The Kid

I'll play it first and tell you what it is later. -Miles Davis-

Yes ... but that was the second Celebration in 2001. ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

EXACTLY! The FIRST Celebration (which broke my bank on a plane ticket halfway round the world) had Macy Gray, Mint Condition and some Prince cover band from NY (Days of Wild?). The Northrop gig was amazing, but the rest of the week was not as hot as the other celly's based on reports. "We've never been able to pull off a funk number"

Yes ... but that was the second Celebration in 2001. SHO U RIGHT - I missed the Northrop concert. It was fathers day and I just lost my dad and I wanted to go home. I wish I would have seen P sing ADORE because I have it on disc and he killed it...MY GOD I went to the 2000 celebration but only toured Paisley Park and I didn't go to anything at night. He should have recorded them and sold them...people would have bought them up. There are times when you need someone and I will be on your side..... Prime aka The Kid

Did any of you sit in for the listen session of Rainbow Children (2001)? Could you have imagined if that was for Musicology? It would have been tight... Prime aka The Kid

Yes ... but that was the second Celebration in 2001. maybe the concert I'm referring to is 2001. There was a bunch of people there....someone sarted singing Chaka's U Git the Love....then after it ended they started doodling around on the piano then started playing that bouncy 80's hit riff and played around about kicking the people who knew the words out.

I held Erica Badu's hand while she sang. She came down and stood on a chair right in front of me. It was great! I also can remember seeing Prince sit behind the control booth and drinking something out of a large plastic cup. he also was dancing to "high" at one point. Prime aka The Kid

I remember. You are referring to the 2001 Celly now. I must have been stood to your left leaning against the stage. She lay down right in front of me at one point in her set. Her whole performance that night was stunning. . [Edited 6/14/06 13:30pm] ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.
