On a non fan, marketing standpoint...

when should Prince release another double album? As a hardcore fan I'm saying the next go round is certainly welcome but has the general public's interest in Musicology and 3121 been enough to predict a double album to sell well in the near future? What's your opinion?

Don't really see the need for a double album these days. I mean SOTT is only really a single album these days given the amount of music you can fit on one CD.

I'd prefer it if Prince started putting out Bsides like back in the day. Then you would get the album and whatever he viewed as 'lesser' tracks he could stick on the single as a bonus. Everyones happy!!! thumbs up!
if you've gotta pay for things that you've done wrong I've gotta big bill coming at the end of the day- Gil Scott Heron

FOr a man known for the Double/triple album...I think there has been enough time since the last one....and could see him doing one in the future that could be well received. It's just one has to wonder if it will be something similar to Emancipation of PP...which was riddled with filler. I have often said that if we was to take the best of Slaughterhouse, TCI and Musicology and make a double album, he'd have something akin to the strength of SOTT (which I consider a double album regardless of the format it is in). Let's face it, there has been a lot of strong material with the last 4 offerings incl 3121. If he'd edit himself a bit and wait sometimes he'd cull enough gems to do so and make most just shut up.

The man has had trouble making a decent regular album for the past 20 years, i would suggest he stick to comimg up with one decent album first.

By those standards, that would include pretty much everything from Parade and on. Last decade...maybe. Last 20 years, I wholeheartedly disagree.

Ok, youre right, i rounded the number to 20 years, I should have said 19 years.

SOT being last of the truly great albums.
