Different mixes of Fury I don't know how many of you guys have Fury on the 12" picture disc, but has anyone noticed the different mix on there? The B-side (live at Brit Awards) sounds really poor compared to the CD single. Prince's voice and the audience have been made louder, and the music quieter. Doesn't make for good listening, I think.
What I want to know, is why would such a thing be done? It's obvious to anyone comparing the two that the CD single is a hell of a lot better!

I've heard that the reason why early 80s CDs need remastering so much is because the audio was mixed more for use on vinyl. Now that everything is mixed for CD sound quality, the opposite is true and the audio balance on often out on vinyl transfers.
Of course it could just be your needle is knackered...

I know its not my needle, cos the other side plays ok!
Maybe you're right, but I'm still not impressed! Good job i've already got it on cd, cos I absolutely love it!

The sound quality on the cd isn't that hot either - the version uploaded to ABMP (The Road to 3121) sounds better. All orgnotes and emails requesting trades or how to acquire bootleggage will be ignored. - The ThreadKiller -
