prince back in ny?

having a new album out with wonderful, soothing songs that anyone can dance, and make love to, or just to hear, will there be a chance that the legend of all times will perform in ny again? i'd love to hear your opinions. i hope he does.

He performed in NY just a few weeks ago (albeit as a sideman to Támar)...

I'm sure he'll do a few more gigs there before this whole 3121 thing is over razz

June 16th! From ABC'S website:

America" is pleased to announce its star-studded 2006 Summer Concert Series line up. As always, all the performances are free and open to the public at New York City's Bryant Park on Friday mornings throughout the summer. The action officially starts on May 26 with the incomparable Dixie Chicks.

While you're waiting for your favorite artist to take the stage, start thinking about the one thing you would ask Jewel or Mary J. Blige or any of the "GMA" musical guests if you could ask them just one question. This summer, "GMA" is giving you the opportunity to ask the questions.

Click on the artist name below to submit your inquiry and be sure to tune in on the day of the concert to see if Charlie, Diane, Robin and Mike ask your question.

Be sure to check back at gma.abcnews.com often, as the concert lineup is subject to change.

May 26 — Dixie Chicks

June 2 — Rob Thomas and Jewel

June 9 — Kenny Chesney

June 16 — Prince featuring Tamar

June 23 — Mary J. Blige

June 30 — Pussycat Dolls

July 7 — Beach Boys

July 14 — Train

July 21 — To be announced

July 28 — Huey Lewis & The News

Aug 4 — Pharrell with Kanye West

Aug. 11 — Carrie Underwood

Aug. 18 — To be announced

Aug. 25 — Lionel Richie

June 16 — Prince featuring Tamar

excited I'm very excited about this! I know it will only be 1-2 songs, and probably more Tamar than Prince (since her CD is slated for release a few days earlier) but I'll take it! Maybe they'll be some other 'evening' performances, too. wink
The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

Well, I don't watch morning TV (too early and too perky for me) but here is the basics: Good Morning America is a daily morning talk show on ABC and in the summer they have a concert series outside the studio. So I think Prince & Tamar will play 2-4 songs in Bryant Park (a small park in New York) and then the newsanchor/hosts will probably ask a few questions about Tamar's new cd.

It will be in the morning, I think GMA starts at like 6 or 7am! But I'm hoping that since he's in NY there might be other shows in the evenings. wink Or maybe David Letterman, or Conan O'Brien?
