I'd have to agree. I was going to suggest Paula Abdul's U, but when I honestly consider it, it's just her vocals that really bug me. It's not his best production job, but her vocals ruin it. I've almost bought Carmen's album a few times, then I check myself. I don't need to just because it's Prince-related.  I agree I think we put down the song U because of Paula Abduls voice. But when u listen to the words and the beat it is soooo prince. I do like the prince on vocals version. |

I don't know about Carmen... That 'Good Girlfriend... Thingy', that's a good song. (imho)
Worst song he's been involved with. No contest. GRAFFITI BRIDGE. Forget Animal Kingdom, forget the riffing of America, THIS is the greatest calamity Prince ever put on vinyl and was the moment his career skewed from innovator to crazed, pseudo-pshyco-religious fiend with a penchant for the odd funky tune. | |

I didnt even take the effort to buy Carmen Electras or Maytes records.
I mean, look at them, and you know your falling into the same 'apolonia' or 'vanity' joke: stereotypical ladies who arent able to sing pushed up by an artist who should know better. One of the weak points of Prince in my opinion: letting his dick decide which female protegee he should produce a record for. Sheila E's records did produce some nice tracks, alltough with a very thin singing voice, Jill Jones debut record offers some breathtaking moments (Mostly because of Prince and Clare Fischers involvement) but, apart from that, Prince has produced a lot of ladies he was fucking or,wanted to fuck, often with toecurling results. | |
