We have often times seen Prince discuss different movies... he was arrested for sexual activity in a movie theater and he took all the celebration customers to a movie as well.

What I want to know is... what are Prince's favorite movies?

I think that he could find inspiration from the late Italian director, Lucio Fulci.

What kind of music do you think Prince would come up with after watching a movie like "The Beyond" or "Zombie" by Lucio Fulci? I think that it would inspire him to create something entirely new and fresh. It would be good to get a little more balance in his world.



The imagery of these films would give Prince a different view and might help steer him in directions that he has yet to go. One cannot ignore the fact that life is filled with many different views and experiences. As was said in a song by The Dwarves, "It's a shame the kind of pain you can inflict... it's sick, but I know that deep down low you're loving it."



The horrors of life can be expressed through music, just as they can be expressed by the wonderful work of cinematic masters. Prince's music has gone too far toward the fairy land of pixies and dancing elves. In his quest for "Love for one another," Prince has become unbalanced. He has ignored the stark face of horror and has sugar-coated the world to a large degree. Has Prince ever written a song that could express the true horrors of the world?



These images are what is missing from Prince's music... pure images of HORROR and evil. These are the things that make pleasure pleasureable and without them joy is an empty experience.

Hey Ice, are you a big horror film fan? If so, can you give me some recommendations for a few? Ones that could be found in a video store without too much trouble.

I think the last very good horror film I saw was Rosemary's Baby... though The Omen wasn't too shabby, either. (By the way, I find the images you posted here truly terrifying and gross... I love it!)

There is also a new release called "Dagon" that is based on an H.P. Lovecraft story.

I still say "Jaws" was one of the scariest and most suspenseful movies ever made.

"Ed Gein" was a pretty good movie, but it was not completely accurate... They could have really shown some strange stuff... Ed was very unique guy. By the way, the naked woman with the swastika and stuff was the best part of the movie, even though she was only in the movie for 1 second.

"Videodrome" is one of my favorites too, although not horror. "Long live the new flesh!"

Are we talking about Cronenberg's "The Fly" or the original? Both were cool.

John Carpenter did a very good job with the remake of "The Thing." I liked it a lot...

Prince liked Caligula, I don't know if he still does now. It was the inspiration for the Gett Off video. Barbarella was the inspiration for the tone box mentioned on the symbol album. Under The Cherry Moon was inspired by the black and white movies of the 40's. So I would have to answer yes to this questions. Oh and when he says "If we're ever naked in the same machine" on Joint to Joint. I saw a scene from a movie that starred Angela Bassett where she and a guy were in a machine and they were naked and you don't see them have sex or even touch but the next thing you know she looks at him and a baby is born. I couldn't help but refer to Joint 2 Joint while watching this scene. Can anyone else think of some?

Yeah, he dug Barbarella big time. It was all over the Diamond & Pearls and Symbol album era. 1/2 of the song Live 4 Love is taken from that movie. The yellow faux fur that was drapped around the keyboards at his live shows and the cover 2 Gett Off was taken from the inside of Barbarella's ship. And what was that video were Prince was making out with Troy Beyer in the movie theater? Barbarella was being shown in the background.

He certainly inspires bad ones.
