So, if I was appalled by Under the Cherry Moon...

Is there any chance whatsoever that I'll even remotely enjoy... *cue scary music* ...Graffiti Bridge?

Seriously, even as a camp-fest, UTCM sunk far below my already low expectations. lol

they arent really that similar. graffiti bridge is more like an extended music video with mucho post-lovesexy prince "spiritual" pretensions.

i did get bored with under the cherry moon way quicker than i got bored with grafitti bridge though. under the cherry moon started to bore me about 10 minutes into it, which was a shame because it looked like a cool idea and had a great opening scene (at the piano). though under the cherry moon is unquestionably the better film overall.

Graffiti Bridge? Frankly Graffiti Bridge sucks. I dont know what it is. The bad acting, the cheesy ass sets. I dont care about Graffiti Bridge the movie too much. I'd watch UTCM than GB anyday.
Some people think I'm kinda cute
But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U.

I'll take Under the Cherry Moon over Graffiti Bridge anyday. The black and white visuals always standout to me, keep me interested.

if you thought Under the Cherry Moon was appalling, You really don't want to see Graffiti Bridge. that is if you're looking to enjoy the movie.
Now if you are looking for something where you can just look at Prince doing stuff in various locations while wearing various outfits for about 90 minutes, then by all means, purchase your copy today.

You are comparing the wrong Prince film. Graffiti Bridge is much more like Purple Rain than it is like UTCM. That being said, GB is only like one, brief moment of Purple Rain. You know that moment after The Revolution perform Purple Rain at the end of the movie and Prince runs down the hallway and then pauses before realizing that the audience really liked the song? Graffiti Bridge is like that pause. Only for 90 minutes.

I dont think "U.T.C.M" would have worked if it was in color..
It was a good idea to have it B&W.

UTCM has some pretty good scenes and is bearable.
GB is an awful film, but only good if you happen to dig Prince's look then (which I do). It's only good for looking a Prince. love drooling

UTCM is at least filmed on location (and very nice locations at that and also which I had the chance to visit last summer having forgotten all about them and then suddenly recognising the piazza where he was having the conversion with Jerome when they saw Bats!) and has some notable actors: Berkoff, Francesca Annis and the introduction of Kristin Scott-Thomas! Actually the mere thought that a giant like Berkoff was taking diection from Prince makes me chuckle...I think there is some artistic merit, and a genuine effort to create something...it just didn't come off - mostly due to Prince's ego...
Meanwhile check out this excellent interview with Kristin: -

and also her "Desert Island Discs" choice: -
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radi...0330.shtml
I did see her recently front row at the theatre and she was damn cool I must say!

Now, on to GB...Prince decided the one good thing from UTCM was his ego.....so ditch the locations, actors, direction...just go for something filmed in a stduio...no real outdoor scenes...no dialogue or story ...just a lot of egotistic prancing about and preaching. A bit like a Michael Jackson movie without the expense or effects. Truly terrible...even musically GB is not a patch on Parade so it failed there as well(IMO). GB also put an end to any further theatrical intentions Prince may have had - there was just no turning back after this.

Hell, I'm not really sure why most around here hate GB. I rather enjoy it, myself! It's 90 minutes of Prince looking fabulous with long sexy hair! That's what I call entertainment!!!

I guess some folks are into plots, character development, storylines and such but when I've got Prince looking fabulous with long sexy hair, I wouldn't have noticed that other stuff, anyhow. shrug

I love Under The Cherry Moon. I think that GB is just really low budget and kinda corny. But I own both of them.
