Hey guys I think I read a review on here (I think it was here) that Apollonia went to the Tamar show in LA earlier this year. She got up on stage and he ignored her or snubed her apparently. Is this true? Why would he do that?

I don't know if they're still cool with each other,but I recall something Apollonia said in the mid-80s when she decided to leave the Prince camp."He told me that I would never make it without him".

I heard about Apollonia showing up at a gig, but I never read that she got snubbed. I actually read that she was onstage singing Purple Rain with him or something.

She was on Vh-1's "where are they now" where she talked about Prince insisting that she would do the lake scene from Purple Rain over and over to make it look convincing or some dumb shit like that.

I love Prince but WTF?

I think calling the shots for that movie was supposed to be the director's job. Last I checked, he ain't under the director's credit title.

This scene is talked about it in the commentary of the 20th Anniv. edition of PR and IIRC, they said she did it in one take (getting in the lake), it was much too cold for anything else. The scene of her coming out of the water was done in L.A..

On another note, actors have to do all kinds of takes over & over. So if getting in the water was her character's action then she should have fully expected to do it a few times. Nobody cares that the water is cold - how do you think the actors for Titanic felt?? Granted their water was most likely tempurature controlled but still actors know their job. If she didn't wanna get her ass in the water she shouldn't have taken the part, period...

UH, that ain't what happened. They did the 'jump' in one take because it was like 20 degrees farenheit or something. after the scene she was about to go into shock from the cold. they (the crew) hustled her into a heated tent and threw a bunch of blankets and shit on her. Prince came in and 'helped' warm her up and said some "sweet things" (her words) to her to encourage her. She didn't reveal what sweet things he said. He was actually nice to her that day. (probably because he got to see her tits. well, they were impressive.)
