Ah, I forgot. You still have that lovely dominance and contempt about you. smile

Yes, they were. If I recall they had one minor hit titled 'Striken From The Record' from the record 'Striken From The Record'.

Cra-zazy!

Reading this article shock me to my foundation. Then i realized it apart of a lesson that I'm being taught. A lesson important enoughshare. Change is important, not to forget or hide, but to improve. The memories will be with us all and we look forward to the memories to come.
I'm interested to know if everyone is okay and if the club can be salvaged? I'll be waiting to hear more. cry

and can we get to the roots of why the hell this story about a building is in the "Associated artists & people" forum? the only thing more nonsensical than expressing concern about some ridulous building catching on fire is to express that concern in a forum that is dedicated to ARTISTS & PEOPLE! where are the moderators when the REAL crimes are going down. i just don't get it.

Yes, because people should only show sympathy, show grief or lament one thing and one thing only and that one thing must be whatever is considered the very worst tragedy. To regret a fire at First Avenue is, after all, to shun, nay, to kick sand in the face of people dying in Africa who right this minute are cursing our evil and knowing prioritising of our compassion.

clapping preach! and if it's worth any comfort to yer obviously saddened self, headboy, the VIP room isn't really a VIP room in sense of the term. it's just a little side room that's upstairs where smaller dance parties and such are held (like the monthly prince parties).

anyhoo, i found out about the fire on the news yesterday morning and was like "oh no, i wonder how it started..." thankfully it didn't spread to the mainroom and cause more damage.

the last time i was at 1st ave, i had way more fun dancing in the VIP room than hanging out in any other part of the club. it seemed to me a pretty vital part of the space.

it is vital now. They don't even open the mainroom now most weekends unless there's a show. So, the Entry and the VIP are the places to be. It's a nice little space too. The sound can be a bit overwhelming but maybe they'll fix that now that they have to re-do the whole space.

not at all surprised
VIP rooms are an insult to the people who arent allowed in them

we were all created equal
humans like to segregate who they think is Very Important
from whom they do not

Lets hope they learn from it
and forget about the notion of 'Very Important People'

YOU are correct, I haven't survived a fire. Except for when I had long hair and I leaned over a candle to light a cigarette. My own hair was aflame. I guess you don't read sarcasm. wink

And without sarcasm: Best of luck on the construction!
