Just ordered Graffiti Bridge!!

Well i'm a new Prince fan and I fell in love with Purple Rain (the movie). When I found out Graffiti Bridge is like the sequel to PR I had to go out and get a credit card and buy it online (since I cant find it ANYWHERE in Australia).

I just want to know, since you guys would be the best to ask... Is it any good? I only bought it for $12.50 AUD (Australian Dollars) and thats a steal. Someone wanna tell me a bit about it?

True, you were robbed.

Some people demand to be paid to sit through it.

Nothing aside from the story, dialogue, direction, characters, and just about everything else.

The performances are good tho, and they're are a few funny moments like the "battle me" bit!

graffiti bridge is weird. i really had a lot of trouble watching the damn thing because i got so bored with it (i think i watched it in several fifteen-minute blocks over the course of about two weeks) but it has such a cute, intentionally corny musical-esque feel to it, especially with that paisley park soundstage set (i love the bridge set!). and there are several moments of writing in it (like the "battle me" scene) which are funnier and more creative than anything in purple rain.

the use of the music is really really disappointing though. the question of u and joy of repetition were nowhere near used to their full potential. the only musical performance i really liked in it was elephants & flowers, which was a beautiful little scene, very well directed. tevin campbell spontaneously bursting into song in the middle of the street made me want to rip my leg off and throw it at the tv

and prince's performance in this makes his performance in purple rain look oscar-worthy. when hes not singing its like hes sleepwalking

I am a Graffiti Bridge Lover...but u gotta go into as "NOT a Sequel" of Purple Rain.. If u go into it as a battle inside of Prince's head of his "spritual" side vs his "worldly" side.. and imagine the Bridge as a special place ONLY he and Aura can go to and if u can imagine that Morris and Prince are really the same person.. and.....well u either love it or you don't .. Enjoy

If you treat is as a really long music video with annoying story segues you might not be AS disappointed. Please don't let it adversely affect your opinion of the Prince songs on the album.

I remember before the movie came out and I heard it was the sequel to "Purple Rain". I was really expecting it to be good. When I saw it, it was a real disappointment. It was absolutely horrible.

The movie also looked very cheap and fake looking. I mean fake backgrounds that looked like paintings behind them. I felt like I was watching "Green Acres".

Well, like others have said, don't think of it as the sequel to Purple Rain or setting urself up for more dissapointment. I'm not even sure if they make any references back to Purple Rain which is odd for a sequel anyway. The backrounds stink, they either look like they came from Sesame Street or those Sci-fi movies back in the 70's and even before than when they had big boards with a landscape painting on them to represent the planet or w/e. The performances are so-so, but don't be expecting that 84 vibrant energy P has because in this movie its just about gone. The acting and theme are corny and need no more explaining. If I were you I'd cancel your order and try and persuade the guy at the movie store to give u a used one for free, although ur still getting ripped-off.....
chill..prince doesnt like men being front row, makes it hard to sing the ballads

They do have a few references to Purple Rain:

• The Glam Slam club: Billy (club owner in Purple Rain) left 1/2 of the club to The Kid and the other half to Morris.

• Jill Jones: The blonde barmaid in Purple Rain is now a sexy long-haired brunette and she's Prince's girlfriend in the beginning of Graffiti Bridge.

• The intro to Can't Stop This Feeling I Got: "Dear Dad, things didn't turn out . . ."

• Prince has the same bike, just painted black (with a new O+> symbol on the side)

I'm surprised you couldn't find it anywhere in Australia. i got mine at the Rock Factory down the street, they have hardly any Prince stuff. A couple of other places in town have it too. Anyway, you probably wouldn't have got a better price. The movie is shit...but a must have if you're a prince fan....the best part is the Question Of U performance in the extras....oh and robin power's ass.

Under the Cherry Moon is a much better movie. Just watched it again yesterday. Wish it had a couple more performances in it and wasn't black and white but other than that its pretty cool and P's best acting. The extra videos are nice as well.

There's a reason for that.

As a Prince fan, you must watch it at least once. When I watched it I was ROFLMAO--too bad it's not supposed to be a comedy. confused
