Superhero

I tried to search for this but that function is under maintainance

Sorry for my ignorance but is the song "Superhero" a Prince original or is it a cover? If so by who. Thanks in advance.

It's Prince original.
Oficially released by Earth Wind & Fire
and also the NPG featuring the Steeles.

1st released version : rerecorded by Earth, Wind & Fire on their 1993 album "Millenium". Though Prince is not credited it is unsure if remains of his original recording appear on this version or not.

2nd released version : released in 1994 on the "Blankman" movie soundtrack, credited 2 "The NPG feat. The Steeles". Vocals by Sonny T. Also released on maxi-single with 2 remixes ("denair old skool mix" & "indasoul mix").

1st bootlegged version : a previous version of the EW&F version, bootleg said it contained Prince involvement but i ain't sure.

2nd bootlegged version : a completely rerecorded track once again sang by Sonny, great funky track intended 4 "Exodus", a pity it wasn't released ! This version goes in2 a jam which covers Billy Preston's "Outta Space", which might xplain why u thought it was a cover song.

There is also a Long Version from EW&F. It's on a Japanese cd EP. I think it's called Blood Brothers And More.

I bought the Cd Superhero from BlankMan in Our Price years ago £8 cos it was an import.
I think ive listened to it a whole once.
I didnt really like the song.
Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!
woot!
