Wich do you like more??? The new stuff or the old stuff? It's the question that everyone wants to ask , but doesn't. Of course we all love what made us fall in love with Prince, but does the stuff he made with all the hell sourrounding him sounded better to you guys? Me....personally the new stuff sounds more orchestrated and not as creative as the old stuf. I miss the power the older stuff had that reaked of that feeling you were listening to something you were not supposed to ...even though it was real. (fantasy is real!)
....So what say you? | |

....So what say you? I prefer the old stuff. For some reason I've been listening to Emancipation non stop though--but now that it's 10 years old, I'm not sure if it's "new" or "old" anymore.

I'm spoiled on the old stuff. It even sounds better (ruogh as it is!) Allot of artist are recording stuff that is so processed that it doesn't sound real anymore....

I remember hearing "Sexy Dancer" on 107.5 in chicago when I was about 10. I was totally blown away. The piano solo on that trak remains one of my favorite keyboard/piano solos ever (when doves cry is 2nd). I will always prefer his old stuff, because he was constantly evolving and we were growing with him and 2 tell you the truth, it was the begining of his career that was the most interesting part of the journey.

He's pretty awesome generally. But: does he grind his coffee with his teeth and boil the water with his rage? The Normal Whores Club
