I've been thinking... maybe SOTT and the associated b-sides are indeed more essential than Parade's.

We wouldn't have this song to love if it wasn't for Sheena Easton betting Prince that he couldn't write a song with the title "La La La Hee Hee Hee".

This is one of the funniest, weirdest songs that Prince ever wrote. I always thought that he wrote it with George Clinton. It has that certain vibe to it.

Sheena was just talking with Prince, saying that songs have to have lyrical depth. That they can't be just vacant "la la la he he he".

Prince taking this as a challenge (and doing just that to poke fun at Sheena, crediting her as co-writer) doesn't make it a bet!
