In the last few years, Prince has put a lot of emphasis on "THE FUNK" in his music and live shows. Surprisingly, why has he abandoned the song "I Know" from LOVESEXY? He could OBLITERATE that song live....thoughts..

i understand his sentiment on the song and all.but i could never get into it. its always been a touch -little mermaid sdtrk- to me.

I don't think "I No" goes that well with his most recent religious beliefs. Even the opening line, "I know there is a heaven, I know there is a hell", is something the JWs really do not emphasize the same way as regular Christian churches do.

Oh lord... disbelief

From my prospective, yes.

You have a dizzying intellect...

actually, i think being confused and full of doubt is quite a good thing. coupled (tripled?) with curiosity, it's a state that can lead to the acquisition of much knowledge. smile

The lyrics of 'Eye Know' do not fit his current beliefs.

Other than that, I do not consider 'Eye Know' to be either a 'classic' concert staple or a fan 'favourite'.

The song is okay, but I can't see people going crazy for it. It very much reflects the period it was written in and serves as more of an introduction and explanation for the 'Lovesexy' album than anything else.

I mean, are concert-goers really concerned about Spooky-Electric and 'The Black Album' nowadays? That was all nearly 20 years ago.

I tell ya, if he'd tour the Lovesexy show for the rest of his life, I'd be there at least 15 times a year... music

I know, there is a heaven, I know there is a hell, listen to me people, I have a story to tell...
News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so.
You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.

I think the song could work. He could re arrange some of the lyrics..like he does with DMSR and others. Someone said that people aren't interested in "Spooky Electric" and/or "The Black Album." Since when does "what people are interested in" counts? If it was up to "the people", Prince would be playing "Purple Rain" and "the hits" for the rest of his life sad
