What part of the song makes you think it's about Mayte? Is is a certain line or the entire song. Inquiring minds would love to know.

Well, ´The dance´ could have been about Mayte, because the song is an Emancipation outtake.

Why should ´Love´ be about fans? The line ´smiling at my friends when u really hate them´ happens a lot in relationships, like a girlfriend jealous of the guy´s friends. On the other hand ´stop telling me what u want me to hear´ could have been about fans´ musical ´suggestions´...

About ´Fury´, since it´s a new song, it could be about Mani, but who knows?

I think it may be about Mani, especially since they r no longer 2gether anymore or at the very least seperated since mid last year, perhaps when he wrote this there was a chance of reconciliation, with lines like "will this song have a happy ending" "only the woman knows, only she knows" and I think this song is as much about Mayte as it is about Susanah which is not at all, I think that period in his life is over, he's had another meaningful relationship these past few years, and just because Prince writes that he's been wronged in some of these songs doesn't necessarily mean he's always the victim in these relationships, we all know he's not that innocent, (i.e. certain Rave songs about Mayte when Mani was in the picture, I Hate U about Carmen Electra even though he was seeing Nona Gaye, Mayte etc..) but it does make 4 a more emotional song when's hes been wronged, lol.

See, unbeknownst to most Prince fans, Prince has been having trouble with his domestics for a number of years.

Take the case of one Eugenia Mathilda Gonzalez Jenkins, his one-time maid. No one, and I mean no one, could keep a house like Genie -- he called her Genie -- could.

Well, there was a miscommunication about Genie's dusting routine. At one point, she touched his stereo -- and y'all know how P is about that. P overreacted ("Don't you ever touch my stereo!"), Genie fled the house in tears...

Rumor has it she was a bit miffed that he found a new maid within hours... She apparently felt scorned.

It's probably to Prince's credit as a songwriter, that he's able to leave folks with the impression that he's singing about a former paramour.
