How come Prince doesn't like Minneapolis anymore?

Do you think he is just bored of it? The people, the weather, the sceane? Did all his friends move out to California? Is he seeking out Hollywood for his career? What's your take on it?

wasn't nobody there but him. A long time ago Hollywood would have come to Minneapolis to get to him. He ain't really hot no more so they stopped coming. ...he has to come to them now.

Good answer. Also, someone mentioned on HQ that Prince doesn't own a home anywhere. I responded that he owns a home in Toronto. Someone then responded that the home in Toronto had been sold. Was this reported anywhere?

Makes me wonder how long he's going to keep Paisley Park Studios open in that state. Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis made the move to CA, maybe Prince will too.

Well maybe he just has more opportunities in California...but Paisley Park makes him money doesn't it. Doesn't seem smart to shut that down...from a financial stand point does it? Don't lots of people use that space for various prodjects?

He made Paisley Park his home already a decade ago. That's it, when his not married to a woman demanding a house for them to stay in together. Apparently he pretty much spent most of his years after the Mayte marriage at Paisley.

Isn't he rebuilding his home there? In the meantime he can relax in LA and Vegas.

The Industry is in LA so that makes sense. And P can make money having a "residency" in Vegas. People might not like him doing that but it's cheaper than moving a big stage show from city to city.

I think the question should be...how come Minneapols doesn't like Prince anymore.

last year I spend a few days in minneapolis...and if.. prince didn't have any love I felt it in Minneapolis. maybe its here nor there..but...man was it depressing and I couldn't help but to constantly think.. no wonder Prince roamed away from MPLS.

it really aint the same.. maybe i'm wrong..but it was the feeling at the time.

I've always felt that this is why Wisconsin is still a relatively wonderful place

Agreed. There have been many stretches when Prince has been in Hollywood, or France, or somewhere else. See if you can follow this:

Prince is rich. Prince is famous. Being both he can afford to fly all over the place and own (or rent) homes in others cities, states, and nations.

When was the last time when Prince was in Minneapolis all of the time? Sometimes he's here, sometimes not. Just because he isn't doing Paisley Park shows every Saturday, doesn't mean he isn't around.

I wouldn't blame the brotha if he doesn't like Minnie Wood anymore. Freezing hell and the atmosphere is just down right depressing.

But judging from his shy personality, Minnie Wood is perhaps the best place for him. Its kinda remote comparing to the big cities such as NYC, LA, Vegas and etc.

Maybe it's because both of his parents who also lived there have now died. I know he had the purple house razed, and that's the one his father lived in. Also, his sister is still there recovering from drug problems. Maybe he just wanted to break ties with being there and move on to a "more worldly" atmosphere.

I think what people have forgotten is his family is gone - that being his Mother & Father as well as Andre Cymone's Mother who was like an Aunt to Prince. Please remember that after his Father passed he, (Prince), razed his Purple House. Why - why not sell it or rent it out as a "Prince Museum". Because he is a private person and probably could not think of people coming into his private world - the world of his Family...
