Prince's own version of "Desire" is just about the best, but is not on the album,
I really like the extended version of "the Screams Of Passion", though. "You don't frighten us, English pig dogs. Go and boil your bottoms, sons of a silly person." | |

St. Paul really annoys me with his Morris Day/Prince imitation, but the music is pretty cool on this album. River Run Dry gets my vote. ______________________________________________

I think the best song is "Desire". Between Prince's demo version and the Family's album version, I like theirs because of the removal of the snare drum. The drums on Prince's version make the song 2 poppy and commercial, though his version is still great. The Family's version benefits from the removal of the snare, making it more sensual and it fits the song perfectly. I have a live rehearsal version of this song, and it almost has a reggae feel 2 it. Absolutely marvelous! |

Prince versions do not count and Peterson cannot get the same effect with the songs like Prince does in the outtakes. That in mind: Yes. Followed closely by Susannah's PJs -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

For me, this is a difficult question. This is honestly one of my favorite albums; I like everything on it -- with the exception of 'Nothing Compares 2 U'.
That said, I would choose 'Yes'. I also love 'Screams Of Passion' -- Clare Fischer's string arrangement adds a lot to that piece. | |

He had no Choice in the Matter.He had to Follow Prince's Guide Track.all Major Acts that have Proteges or Acts Record there Material are forced into being a Clone to the Outside Eye.but St Paul is a Bad-Ass the Guy has Chops&Can Play but I think along with Margie Cox,Jesse Johnson Association hurt His Career from fully reaching it's full Heights IMHO.mistermaxxx | |
