Name your favorite Prince guitar solo Yes, it's that time of year when I give props to "The Ride" (Crystal Ball version).
Prince was playing like crazy (and, yeah, I know I have a tendency to hype other guitarists at his expense). I mean, right from the beginning, the boy is blazing that guitar. My favorite run from that song -- and there are many -- occurs between 2:29 and 2:54. I'm trying to practice to it right now. It's fairly comical. Well, that's my favorite string moment. What's yours?

Yeah, I've always dug the SOTT movie version. Loved his tone, the delay and the flow.

P has several good solos but to me, it's always been the solo to Purple Rain. I don't care how many times I've seen P play this live, (and it's been many) and I don't care which band formation he's using at the time, this is his signature solo as far as I'm concerned. I'm not saying it's his best, BUT I am saying it's my favorite solo by him. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

Yeah, and there's always anticipation in how he's going to play the next part of that familiar solo... I feel ya. My fave would be from the 1985 concert movie. He's doin' some serious runs. And, that's my favorite tone from him, anyway.

Wasn't that Levi's solo? I donĀ“t know, I remember practising it on the guitar as a teenager, and the transcript said it would have been his. Can't remember, maybe he just did it live.

Never have heard it, but I'm sure Prince would absolutely shred within that kind of chord structure and bluesy style. He normally does.

Got a few:
Solos on "Call The Law" from the "sacrifice of Victor" video Purple House from Rave DVD Any version of the solo he did in the latin part of "Everlasting Now" And I'd LOVE to hear a longer solo at the end of "The Word". The one on the album is sweet but WAY too short!

The Holy River
Computer Blue (the "FAther's Song" portion) Vavoom's second solo So many live solos...basically every note he played on the Tamar tour
