The Black Album (cover version)

I remember being 16 back in 1988 and receiving a tape of the Black Album from a friend of mine. Eventhough it was incomplete and of very poor sound quality, I worn this tape out, I just loved that album!

About a year later, I remember being totally freaked out happy finding a CD copy of The Black Album. I asked the record shop guy if I could listen to it and full of expectation I put on the headphones. Only to find out that some guy(s) had totally copied the entire album into the minor details! It was an amazing effort, but I was very disappointed that it was not the real thing and I didn't buy it.

I still regret not having bought this curiosum, because it was something unique and I never found it again (and probably never will). I wonder if some of you orgers have ever encountered this weird copy of The Black Album???
RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

Some shady people in the business, I was sold some crap that I later found out was a guy called Seemore Funk. I'm glad too because I was thinking if it was Prince then it sucked donkeys.

a fellow P-nut let me hear her copy of the Black album which we both knew wasn't Prince...it was indeed amazing as to the detailed recreation of the entire album and all its nuances, BUT, still wasn't the same vibe

I have this CD. It came out shortly after the Prince Black Album was pulled. The packaging is just like the real thing. These guys are german and the musicianship is flawless, although the dude singing is definately NOT prince.

It is quite rare though and you are the only other person that I know of that has heard the album.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.
