UK Cinema Showing SIGN O' THE TIMES

Just booked my ticket for the Wednesday night showing!

I can't wait to see this on the big cinema screen like it was originally intended for back in the day.

Sadly these unconfirmed screenings are now cancelled as we have been unable to gain permission from the rights holder.

If you paid for these tickets by credit card, your account will be automatically credited with the price of your tickets. If you paid by cash or cheque, we will arrange for a refund cheque to be sent to you.

Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience this might cause.

I was so excited about this - can't believe Prince has refused to allow the film to be shown on the cinema screen.

softandwet

to be honest Purple Rain still gets shown in cinemas in the US, and I'm sure people on the org have gone to see SOTT at the cinema at points, so I wonder why it was denied here? Or maybe I'm mistake about SOTT and Prince holds extra rights on that one (as opposed to PR) and thus decided he didn't want it showing.

Doesn't really make much sense either way really, suppose its all about control though! smile
