P.S. right after I posted this, I couldn't believe I didn't say When Doves Cry.

Now I dare anyone to make a song so purely cohesive that even the instruments and vocal cooings mimic the dove theme. Too Grand. And I dare anyone to make a song so detached from contemporary pop but so infectious that millions sing the eccentric verses even through the "whoa ooh whoa" The Reign!

Best song on 'Purple Rain'? WHEN DOVES CRY.

Purple Rain, Darlin' Nikki, Let's go Crazy, The beautiful ones. dang! The whole album is #1!!! These songs make it very hard to decide once you really think about it...

Some said 'Take me with u' but the lady is just way too off key for me to say so, though the music is really very nice.

I gotta say either "Baby, I'm A Star" or "Take Me With U".

I love Darlin Nikki, cause its so sexy the way he sings it, especially live (Syracuse concert 1985) and when he screams "NIKKI" and then humps the stage.

If we go by exactly what's on the album, I'd say "When Doves Cry," the song that got me hooked. If we went with extended versions of songs and such, I'd say the 11 minute "Computer Blue."

Silly? "Purple rain"

I gotta go with Purple Rain, its what hooked me in the fisrt place. A close second the extended Computer Blue with the monologue about the rooms of the house.

The Beautiful Ones because it's the song that made me fall in love with Prince. No baby, I want you.

Y'all wrong. Let's Go Crazy... especially the extended version.

And don't forget the great B-sides from that album including EROTIC CITY and 17 DAYS. Both classics.

Overall, a good beat and I could dance to it. I'd give it a good solid 7.
