3121 is ON !!!

If you are wondering what Prince has been up to then wait no longer. Prince did not want to shoot his load all at once or "overexpose" himself on all the talk shows / magazines after getting his first #1 album since 1989. In case you forgot the very first single from this album was released on 12/13(3121 backwards). Prince is taking his time with this album. Black Sweat was the big miss as a single , but got plenty of rotation on MTV and VHI to be considered a hit or good promotion that a new album was on the way. Fury on SNL was another attention getter to let people know that Prince is a bad motha when it comes to guitar and what an excellent live performer he is.Lolita on American Idol was a good performance to let 40 to 50 million people know "My Name is Prince and I am STILL Funky , Choya !!!" Prince is just casually letting people get familar with the songs of 3121. When the time is right he will strike and I bet it will be sometime after or on June 7th !?! The goal here is get people interested in the "NEW" stuff , not the "HITS". Prince does not want to do another greatest hits tour. It's time to move on and sing what's current with a few hits sprinkled in the middle. I have a feelin that the hits will finally be laid to rest. 3121 don't U wanna come ...?

Me too! It is time to move on from the hits, though they deserve the praise that they get.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Come on now, just because finally he did something right does not make the whole last 6 weeks a collosal waste.
When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

I would love to hear him play songs from his latest cd but some folk will want to hear some of the old stuff for sake of their old memories. I would love to hear Something in the Water just once in awhile.

I predicted this album would tank and it has. He already has three songs out and no one's paying any attention.

Time to accept reality.

i would love to see prince pull a madonna and go on tour performing almost every song from his latest record. its been a LONG time since ol' boy did that on a major tour.

since everyone wants to tell prince how to do things, let me be no different. lol prince needs to schedule mutliple venues in each city. large arenas for the hits stuff/general public and smaller theatres for the heads. i know in the past he's used the aftershows for the hardcore but they always seem to turn into fiascos.

anyway, if it worked for the stones it would work for him!

Hi Mr. Maxxx....LOL

Well, I don't care what type of big star you are...if you don't promote your album in this day and age, shit won't sale...Prince is finally learning this dose of reality...American Idol is a savvy start...The midget just had to get off his ass and start pushing this project...And I would hardly call an album that has sold 1.1 million worldwide tanking...What he has to do now is put a kick ass, fun video out for "Lolita" to get it popping in the States...But of course, this is Prince we are talking about...(LOL) Who knows what the man is going to do...

You must be a glutton for punishment. It makes absolutely no sense for you to be a part of Prince's online fan community when you hate most of his music over the past 10 years. Makes no sense at all.

ding. wrong answer.

i didn't say he should "perform songs only from this new album." i said he should go on tour and perform "almost every song from his latest record." can you spot the difference? if not, let me be so kind...

you see, performing only songs from 3121 would mean he performs no other songs. performing most of the songs from 3121 means just that, performing most of the songs. in addition to performing most of these tracks, prince could perform another hour's worth (or more) of previously released material.

in your particular case, you could always stay home if that sort of thing didn't appeal to you. i'm sure you're the type of person who would prefer to stay home, visit the org and read the concert reports, then moan about how disappointed you would be if you paid to see that.

wait. do i stand corrected (i stand corrected). you would probably pay to see the show - even knowing the setlist in advance - just so you could go and say, "eh, prince ain't got it no more. he should hang it up," blah blah puke.

yeah. i thought so.

falloff

I love 3121.

Sure, it's not a great album, but I'm just happy it's not NEWS or ONA--yes, Prince has set the bar just that low for me. lol

It's obvious to me you put NO thought into this if this is the best theory about me that you have. So allow me to correct you.

I would not attend one of his shows if I knew the setlist in advance and hated most of the songs on it. That would be a waste of money.

However, I may attend a show of his in a small club if I believe Larry, Tamar, or any other waste of my cash won't be there to take most of the show. I have seen a few shows that were terrible, but on the night of the RRHOF, I did attend the after party which was pretty good because he mostly played old songs and did them well. The end of the show was terrible but almost everything else was cool.

So in other words, it's a 50/50 type thing.

Get it?

anyone who says they hate most of someone's work from the past 10 years yet still comes around has some issues to dissect. sounds like some serious battered wife syndrome if you ask me.

yeah, you'll be at the next prince show in your area.

and you'll be here whinging about it when you get home.
