"Everybody's looking for Graffiti Bridge!" I love this song!

~*~

I personally love the title song for Graffiti Bridge! I think it's a happy, magical, dramatic, joyful song. Brings alot of memories for me too.

In a way it may have been inspired by The Wizard of Oz much like Sign "O" The Times was in a way.

It's got orchestra arrangements by Clare Fischer, Sheila E. sings and plays drums on it, Tevin adds a child like feel to it, Mavis sings on it, most of the cast from the movie contribute to the main chorus...c'mon fans, it's great!

I would never admit to liking that song. smile

Incidentally, one of my former beau, who didn't know a damn thing about pop, rock, soul, etc. (he's an opera queen)... well he loved that song!

I agree!
This is one of my absolutely favorite lp's. It always moves me. The cast of players (musicians) on it is amazing.
I Love Graffiti Bridge !!!
And the look Prince was sporting during that time...

AMEN! I remember reading my local newspaper's review of the 'Graffiti Bridge' album, and the critic actually said that this song is as powerful as the "Purple Rain" title song!!! I nearly choked on my coffee...lol...

As bad as this song sounds on the CD,could you imagine if Prince,Tevin,Mavis and the rest of the cast was seen performing it at the end of the movie? As their big finale? That would have ruined an already bad movie...lol...

Nooo! nothing "yucky" about this gem. It's on a par with "Starfish & Coffee"!

SmegHead

I love this song to.

Whenever I have a bad stomach ache or I have eaten a kebab from "Spiros the Greek Grease God" shop and I need to puke.
I can just slap this beautiful song on and I'll be hawking it up with my head over the toilet faster than you can say, "It's a Deep Pan pizza coming up without the base".

No really I do enjoy it.
