Hello everyone. Anybody know why Prince is not dancing at his recent ONA shows. Pretty sad when the man is known for his concerts to be fully energetic and entertaining. NO DANCING--come on!!! Maybe one of the NPGMC members could e-mail prince and find out for us. What do you think???

Last year at the Celebration Prince told us he had injured his leg so he wasn't dancing. He was walking with a cane and taking cortizone shots before the concerts. Maybe he doesn't want to reinjure it.

Because he is too busy tearin shit up on the guitar!!! I'd take the musician Prince over the performer Prince anyday. Although an equal portion of both is great too

Prince said that Kip injured it during rehearsal, at last year's celebration. He joked about us possibly seeing Kip's obituary in the Sunday paper.

I think at this point it's two parts to the answer.

1. He may have some type of injury.

2. JW may not do a lot of dancing.

Let the man do his shows the way he wants to. Jimi Hendrix had the same problem with "fairweather" fans who are only into the flash and not the music. Playing the guitar with his teeth, behind his head, between his legs. If he only wants to sit on a stool and just play some beautiful music then there are many of us who would sit attentively and listen! I appreciate that Prince is concentrating on the music and not so much of the pyrotechnics that divert attention from it. We've seen that for years. Some people don't know how to experience change with the artist, they only want them to stay in familiar territory. Don't be surprised if some day he turns his back to the audience like Miles Davis started doing. We'd see how many people r really in it for the muzik.

Being an extraordinary showman is one of the things that sets Prince aside from other artists. Concentrating on the music hasn't made his concerts any better IMO. I think the ONA concerts are much better than the H'nR crap, but also kind of dull and I'm talking about the music, not the show. Most of the songs on the ONA setlist aren't exactly songs you'd get up and dance to, so perhaps that's the main reason why he's not dancing.

Because he is focusing on his MUSICIAN side. I like to see him dancing, but I must confess i was bothered when I saw him dancing too musch on the Jam of the Year tour. I am glad he is playing more than dancing now.
