Prince a vegetarian?

I want to start anew and learn the facts.

Why is Prince a vegetarian. Bible issues, life issues, whatever issues. What are the references.

And of course if U 2 R one, share your reasons. I'd like to focus on Prince.
He doesn't drink milk from cows?
Soy milk and capn crunch, right. Does Cap'n Crunch have lard in it or sumpthing?

Also,

Animals eating animals. What is the deal about that that makes humans feel they are just not animal eaters, and shouldn't be. Difficult to answer, I know. I'm considering a vegetarian diet. But animal products are just everywhere, and lard's all..not good right.
Educate me, please.

Prince could be my next diet inspiration, along with your help!

I have been vegetarian for a few years now, best thing i ever did. I have a more varied and i have to say more enjoyable diet than before.I changed for a number of reasons not least there is so much crap in meat nowadays and to be honest i simply did'nt enjoy it anymore. I am allergic to all fish anyway so it was'nt a big deal. I have felt more heathly since becoming a veggie, better skin, hair etc so not doing me any harm.

Prince i don't know you better ask him?

The difference between humans and animals is that we can chose what we want 2 eat... smile
U could start by cutting off all red meat for a few month, after that cut off chicken and fish, but stick 2 eggs for proteins, (unless U wish 2 become a vegan)
There's a numerous of brands (frozen food section usually) that make vegetarian "meat subsitute" made of soy and mushroom, these are high in proteins and low in fat...
Try the Bocca all american classic veggie burger... yummm
smile)
all in all if U think of all the innocent cow/chicken/fish that are murdered every year to feed us, it's not so bad 2 make a little effort and find other ways 2 feed ourselves...

Interesting that you say you have a more varied diet now that you are a vegetarian. I hear a lot of vegetarians say things like that. All that has happened, is that due to cutting out the meat, you have become more educated about the foods you eat. This is necessary in order to make sure that you still meet your bodies correct protein and vitamin requirements.

There is nothing inherently unhealthy about a vegetarian diet, it is just more difficult to get the correct nutrients and that is why it is important to go into it with eyes open and with a good knowledge of nutrition. It is a big, big problem, when someone becomes a vegetarian and does not know about nutrition and how to keep a good balance in the diet, as it is very, very easy to become undernourished.

On the flip side, there are also plenty of problems relating to meat eaters. This is a result of the modern culture of TV dinners and junk food than just as a result of eating meat. Again, it is a lack of knowledge regarding food and nutrition.

Personally I am a meet eater and I am well studied in food and nutrition, as a result I do believe that a diet containing meat, is most certainly an easier and more healthy diet than one without. Like everything in life though, it is about balance and not going to excess. If I only ate steak and hamburgers, I wouldn't expect to be around by the time I reach my 40's. My diet, by default has to have a massively greater potential for variety than a vegetarians. This is obvious because I can still eat anything that a vegetarian can, I can also supplement it with meat.

I am sure that this discussion will run for a while and there will be many people saying that vegetarian diets are more healthy, we shall see...

First of all eating animals and birds, is Unethical and barbaric. Firstly if u see the way we have evouled, our teeth are not designed 2 eat meat. But T-rexs and some mammals are. The reason animals eat animals is cuz, they eat 4 survival(they can only live on meat and their instinct leads them 2 kill); we have a range of foods 2 eat, and God gave us intelligence, 2 decide preferably what 2 eat. Meat contains dead blood sells, and this evidently has been linked 2 cancer ('Silicon'), and heart dieases. So become a vegan! U'll live longer!

The reason Prince is a vegan is cuz, he simpily thinks its wrong 2 eat meat, and he explains why in the song 'Animal Kingdom'. He is a true perfected being, a person who knows what needs 2, and should be done. He won an animal association award 4 dedicatin the inside of his album cover, referin 2 the plight of lambs. He is strongly against dairly products 2, mainly cuz; the cow only produces milk, just after the calfs are born, so the milk is without doubt, 4 the calfs. But the farmer seperates the calfs from the mother, and chops them up 2 sell as mutton. Now dats evil!

The reason why the animal products are every-where, are cuz the demands of the population, but vegetarianism is big now, and will constantly increase in time. But i must say, there are plenty of soy products, i found in my local store, almost every substitute 4 meat products, and some of them taste just as good as the real thing.

Animals have rights! They may not talk, but u can never take away there right 2 exist!

I personally live by "moderation in all things" i don't think being carnivorous or herbivorous or omnivorous is wrong or right...

however, I DO think the USA eats too much red meat, that's not moderation, it leads to inhumanity to animals (inanimality)??? and we've all seen those stats about how many people could be fed with all the grain that is produced to feed the cows that we eat!!!

Therapy

The stage Im at at the moment is total vegetarian, semi vegan. This is the semi bit. I still have dairy products, IN things. I don't have them neat. And its mostly cheese. I have been vegetarian for about 8 years. I still eat fish until 5 years ago. I have gradually replaced my animal diet with a non animal diet.

My reason? I like animals. I heard a lot about what happens to various animals that feed humans. The idea of ingesting flesh from an animal that suffered makes me feel ill. And to eat an animal would be equivalent to eating a person for me.

Ive got on my vegetarian soapbox no more than a handful of times too, usually to defend myself from attack. I don't have a problem with other people eating meat. My problem is with how the animals are treated.

And Prince is indeed vegan.

A vegan diet seems to me to be very clean and doesnt contain much processed food. Im wary of milk now as I believe it has links to cancer. And I feel good.

wink Thanks Essence wink I'm glad u c the real picture. smile

What really got me mad last-night was i saw a documentary on the 'state of the natural world', and it showed these demonic fishermen using unexceptable and unconventional ways of fishin; they used cyanide (poison), explosives 2 catch the fish. They say 80% of all coral-reefs are dead or in danger of diein, thus the fish will not survive. They say most rear fish are becomein extinct, and some all ready have. These are examples of the evil, devious ways what man has done 2 are planet and its inhabitants; pollution, modern farmin methods, building on habitual land, and in this case, greed has contributed 2 the demise of animals. But i think eatin meat is acceptable, in a way.

Sam wink

I no longer eat meat, because I think it's disgusting the way we treat animals. Plus it really isn't good for the environment to raise animals on factory farms. It isn't even efficient to raise cows... the amount of food needed to raise a cow to maturity far outweighs the amount of food we get out of the animal.

I don't see why dairy and eggs should be essential to a human diet for variety?

How a Cow's tete fluid for nursing it's infant Calves or a Chicken in unfertilised embryonic form was ever intended for a human mouth I can't figure out.
