Of course the lyrics are corny, but you can say that about A LOT of Prince songs.
But i really dig the exegarated Lennon-like effect on the vocals and the experimental music, a nice echo of mid-eighties Prince psychedelica in my opinion. | |

I like Animal Kingdom and Man in a Uniform.
I like The Arms Of Orion and I dont really mind Jughead. Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

Animal Kingdom is one of the most hilariously shitty songs he's ever recorded.
I totally lose it by the time he sings, "Who told us we should eat the swiiiiine?" Horrible lyrics, hilarious singing. It's just too stupid a song to hate. This song doesn't just make me wanna eat a cheeseburger, it actually makes me wanna hunt. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

As bad as it is, it's one of the funniest songs he's ever made, even though I don't think he meant for it to come across that way  . That line about eating the "swiiiiine" cracks me up EVERYTIME! I juist sent my Dad this track in lieu (sp?) of Prince's recent "Sexiest Vegetarian" award, as kind of a joke. Here's his reply...
