I just finished downloading this video that looks like it was from the purple rain era, That has prince micheal jackson and james brown 2gether on one stage. I was wondering on that video prince looked to be out of it. I he took down a prop when he left the stage. Was he on some kinda drug or something???

This is one of the most surreal Prince artifacts Ive ever seen...I can never get enough of it...he had finsished the 1999 tour, recently performed the Aug 1983 benefit concert, and was in the midst of getting the whole PR ting started..its weird to see him in his prime ready to start something...even if he was seemingly drunk. Never since have I seen P and MJ in the same place together like that.

What is most hilarious about this is when Prince throws his glove or something in the audience it gets thrown right back at him, playa haters even back then, He isn't the most loved person when it's not his stage to begin with. Remember the Rolling Stones shows in L.A. A must have for any serious P collection indeed!

i heard at the end of prince's stint.he accidentally pulled down the lamp post and the top broke someone's leg.that must have been an awful night 4 him.

The lamp post must have not been screwed down because he grabbed it to help himself down and took it with him...the crowds hands kept it from fallin on them but the big ol lightbulb thing fell off...I have a feeling he was drinking and was looped like they say because when he went onstage and was asked to do his bit, he takes off his jacket-shirt and strums the geetar(Computer Blue performance its NOT!), but when he leaves the stage, he forgets his jacket and leaves shirtless etc...James Brown is seen picking up the jacket and walking it to the end of the stage in a "hey Prince you forgot this!" mode. Sad and funny at the same time.

Prince was to go on first at the Memorial Coliseum in L.A. before George Thorogood, J. Giles Band and The Rolling Stones. Well these bikers and rockers were there to see the Stones not Prince. The people up front had been standing in the hot sun all day and were in no mood for a skinny black kid dancing around in leg-warmers. (This was just before the Controversy Tour was to begin and it was Brownmark's first gig) Well about the third song in, the rowdys upfront began too throw things on stage and Dez, was his guitarist at the time, knew this was kinda normal for a rock show, the people in the higher up seats didn't realize there was a problem, they were dancing and really into it, but Prince did not appreciate almost getting his guitar player hit with a 3/4 full bottle of Jack Daniels and left the stage. So now the booing began and Prince decided not to do the second show the next night, only to be talked into coming back by his manager at the time, Dez and Warner Bros. Word got out he was booed off the stage on the radio, so the next night the bikers were prepared for this and immediatly starting throwing things like Chicken bones. So the legendary fact is Prince was booed off stage before the Stones Show.

I know how this clip originally got onto the bootleg circuit...but I'm not telling!!!

Even back then Prince didn't get the Respect from people that he DESERVED.
