theres nothing to suggest that he actually "didn't". In fact I do recall an interview that said he was putting the finishing touches to his re-recorded back catalogue. I think if 1999: New Master had done better we'd have seen more material. I think he genuinely intended to re-release it, and as such isn't really a lie, but I do think he's got a large bulk of his music in a newer version from the late 90s.

He can do both, in a sense. From what i remember he lip synched the miss world contest or whatever, but he was definately against it. It was from (another!) interview around the mid 90s, where an interviewer was with prince while he was watching the footage and getting annoyed with himself over a minute misstep, but the interviewer was going on about how he hates to lipsynch. I suppose its just dancing with the devil, saying you are against something and that you would never do it are two different things ultimately though!

I don't particularly recall Prince saying this recently? I think he does regret stuff especially seeing as all the rumours about him ringing people from his past up to make amends.

I think he respects them - in their place! If he hated them that much he wouldn't have had a band of 90% women at the Brits. I know what you mean though, his views seem quite 'traditional' (to put it politely) but he certainly seems to get over it for the music!

Lol, thats not really based on anything is it! He grew up listening to Jackson 5, and plays MJs music in concerts and soundchecks, if he really hates MJ, ain't no way Tamar would be playing Don't Stop and he wouldn't be playing Billie Jean while a fan danced at soundchecks.

There is an interesting story about that really you might like, about how he couldn't bring himself to work for a full album with Miles Davis (or something like that) because he respects Miles too much to tell him what to do in the studio, even though Miles would have liked it.

I understand what you mean more in a 'against objectification of women' but has written the filthiest songs about sex and women ever sort of thing, but even then, writing about wanting to shag someone can be very different to talking about women being bitches and ho's!

Because Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis went from doing really good music to total sampled crap about 10 years ago and what in the world is wrong with being radio friendly if the music is decent and on top of that P balances it out with experimental stuff.
