Not great, but not bad. I believe once the show rolls out sales will go up.

The "Fury" single might turn things around.

without any real promotion from Prince's part since the release
of the album, i think it's done tremendously well considering
how many copies his albums roughly sold during the last decade.

I'm surprised it's still not on iTunes. What's up with that?? Red Hot Chili Peppers has the #1 album on iTunes and most likely in the US with it'd DOUBLE album, Stadium Arcadium!!

I was hoping it would outsell these albums, at this rate it'll top out at about 425,000, hopefully the upcoming promotion with Tamar and shows will boost sales.

The Gold Experience 492,000
Emancipation 628,000
Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic 487,000

But how many copies have been burned, copied or bootlegged off these 389,833 legit albums sold. Surely this would go platinum.

it will outsell all those albums but unless he starts promoting the album or gets a song on the radio...he wont get near a million sales which the inferior musicology nearly reached..

ditto.

If Prince himself promoted these albums by going on different shows and radio stations, alot of his albums would have hit the platinum mark. Not that Prince really cares, but you have to rub the radio world in the right way sometimes.

Also, i think everyone from this site should just go out and buy another copy from the store and send it directly to the Pop/RnB/HipHop/Rock radio stations in your area. Have the return label be from Prince Rogers Nelson with his home address.

It has sold a million copies worldwide. So it has gone Plantinum and to have hung in the top half of the charts this long with out a lot of promotion is pretty good.

Since he is going to be on GMA in June he must be planning to tour or do more T.V. so let's not write this project off yet.

Are Prince's sales that out of line for an 80's icon or are they about average?

Take a look at Springsteen's sales this week - which are his second week:

TWRank--Artist--Title--TWSales--%CHG--LWSales--RTDSales

#9 SPRINGSTEEN*BRUCE WE SHALL OVERCOME: SEEGER SESS 75,133 -50 149,445 224,846

And compare to Prince's sales in his second week:

#8 PRINCE 3121 75,519 -59 183,436 259,336

So is Springsteen doing as poorly as Prince
or is Prince doing as well as Springsteen?

FURY IS THE MOST DATED SONG ON THE ALBUM, SO WE SHOULD NOT HOPE IT WILL BOOST SALES. IT IS A LAME SINGLE CHOICE. NO ONE AGED UNDER 25 WILL EVER LOVE THIS SHHHHH....(OK, IF YOU ARE UNDER 25 AND LOVE IT, DON'T JUMP AT ME: YOU ARE THE EXCEPTION)
