Prince Sales Figures Does anybody have the worldwide sales figures of all the Prince albums?
I was on the Rolling Stone mag site today and it claims SOTT only sold 1 million. That isn't true is it? | |

Actually, no organisation collects world-wide sales. You get individual sales amounts for individual countries - Billboard obviously handles the USA, but there are complications from what I've read - Soundscan started being used 1991 onwards, so there are accurate totals after that date and only estimates before. I know Edu has struggled to work out the totals from various research and scraps of info.

I am surprised Purple Rain and Diamonds and Pearls are his highest sellers. Never thought about that. I figured Diamonds and Pearls sold the same amount as Symbol. | |
