sign o the times dvd review

i dont know if this has already been done , so i appologise if im being repetative.

i have recieved my sign dvd from brazil. i will list my review in points.

1. ignore the strange track list on the box and on ebay, it is exactly the same as the video including sign o the times.

2. the interactive menus are good with a nice photo gallery of prince at all stages of his career. but the menu has the symbol which is silly in my opinion being as the dvd is from 87

3. the qaulity is poor, the picture is no better than the slightly deteriorated picture from the video, and the sound appears to be in mono which is real disspointing, i palyed the vhs and the dvd swithcing backwards and forwards to compare and the sound is awful on the dvd.

4. thier is a biography in extras but its in portuguese, which is fair enough, but dont buy the dvd thinking this will be nice bonus unless u understand the language.

5. what with the deteroration of the video and the poor quality of this unofficil release its time we begged warners or prince or whoever is resonsible to release dvds of this event and the lovesexy video, and well everything else really, one box set 3 chains, undertakeer, sacrifice, d+P, p and the rev live, graf bridge , utcm, etc etc

i hope this is of some help to those considing purchasing this product

Thanks!

I'm glad I didn't buy it.

What I'd love is to extract the audio so I can play it in my car.

esspecially the track "Now's the Time" by Charlie Parker.

thanX for the review.
I watched my 'Sign' video a little while back & was horrified that time hasn't been kind to the videotape. It had a few "jumps & lines" going through it.
I really want it on DVD but I'll wait for the official one.
I have a feeling it will be a long wait, though.

Well there are many bootlegs of this available or else hook your vcr into the soundcard of your computer and rip the audio to your harddrive and then burn it to cd.

WOW! The dvd sure sounds like a piece of junk! A shame about the audio. Has anyone tried switching between the so called 5.1 and 2.0 Dolby Digital audio? Hard to believe the audio on a DVD would be in mono. I have SOTT on VCD and the audio is mono as well. I was hoping to have a stereo copy of SOTT sad Thank God for Wonderboy!!

Lucky for me I'm getting a copy of the SOTT DVD for free so I'm not losing anything. I can't believe that those crooks at dvdbrazil.com are selling the DVD for $25 plus S&H. Those bootleg DVDs sell on the streets of Brazil for around $7

I wish that WB would get off their butts and release all of the old home videos on DVD.

I did that several years back, and the tape got fried for being in the car too long. I'm just saying I'd love to have it on CD now, I could buy an adapter for my new set up (MAC) and do it again I suppose.
