In my opinion, the person who gets the award for the worst Prince cover will always be Sinead O'Connor.

I LOVE Sinead O'Connor's version of Nothing Compares 2 U. I am not crazy over her as a person but she has a beautiful voice and she only made a great song better imo.

Lately I've been listening to Sheena Easton's tunes...101, Cool Love, Sugar Walls...all, I think, are some of Prince's best songs...and she sings them well...esp 101. I haven't heard these since the 80's and kinda forgot about 'em.

But my fave cover of a Prince tune has to be I Feel For You by Chaka (with honoralble mention to Sticky Wicked on CK...with Miles D!).

Sinead O'Connor's version of Nothing Compares to you is the best one I've heard.

Cyndi Lauper. I think her cover of When U Were Mine is almost as good as the original

2nd Place:
Sinead O Connor - miles better than the version on Hits 1 and (IMO) as good as the version by the Family
