The 3121 has fallen out of the top 50 and now with just 377,000 or so sold it look's like Prince will not even go gold this time around! The 3121 is perhaps Prince's best afford in quite some time."Too bad"!

Call me an optimist, but don't count the album out yet. I believe that if P goes on tour and does some high profile appearances, the album can go platinum. It may not stay in the top 20, but it can still sell.

It's certainly moving like a tortoise to get to 500,000 Gold in the USA. Still, as we all know, there hasn't been any promotion since the Tower records gig on the day of release. There's still time for Prince to encourage the release along, if you take it as a long-distance race rather than a sprint. The single Fury is coming out eventually, will it have a video? Will Universal push to get it heard and shown? Will it drive a few more sales? We'll have to wait and see...

Don't worry, we have the Purple Ticket party and the single of "Fury", along with a video that will push the sales. Fury is a solid track that will appeal to a lot of people.

i have a funny feeling that "Fury" wont be released commercially. This project has gone down "like the wall of berlin". Im also gettin the "no tour" vibe also, usually there is a buzz before a tour takes place or the media report on it/rehearsals etc. There has been nothing like that yet!

Well hes made the 400,000 Prince fans who bought it happy. Reason for sluggish sales is simple. PEOPLE HAVE NO MUSICAL TASTE!!!

It's a shame,4 all those who don't buy it because it's a good record.
I'm sure the release of Fury will do some good.

Anyway,in my Prince collection it's a GOLD record or even a platimium record

Yes, it will go gold. It already has, really (watch for its certification at the end of the month). Remember, certifications are for the number of units shipped, not the number sold. He will sell at least 400,000 copies. That means there are probably at least another 100,000 copies sitting in record store bins across the country. So 3121 will receive a gold certification for 500,000 copies shipped to record stores across the country. Come only sold about 350,000-400,000 copies and it was certified gold in 1994.

If Prince ever decided to actually promote this record he could probably easily get it up to platinum, but it's looking increasingly like that's not gonna happen.

It should have never made it onto the charts anyway because it's a good album and good albums haven't made the charts in years. I'm glad to see it slipping. The fans have it, Prince made some money, and that's all that counts.

Worldwide it will at least go Gold probably Platinum.

It will sell more IF Prince wants it to.

Word of mouth from those of us that love it will help sell it further. Universal seems to have dropped it. I have been to the site and it is no longer there. Under artists Prince doesn't even show up. I have faith it will go Platinum.

if he got a funky video together (that didn't neccessarilly feature him at the forefront) for LOVE and put it out with some club oriented mixes... it might climb back up... and get respect of the teenage bubblegum crowd.

then release a BECK style fine art creative video (with a current high brow good director attached) for 3121, he might get a bit of respect from more alt rock hipsters.

Then release a VH1 style video with hot models for GET ON THE BOAT to get the older crowd....

that's a lot of effort... but wouldn't that be normal? for a pop star...

I'm 38 and "Love" is my favorite song on the album. It's uptempo, funky, and housy. Those little brats wouldn't like that song. It's too fast for them. They would be more interested in "Incense And Candles".
