I watched Lovesexy Live for the 1st time WHY OH WHY I WISH I WENT TO THIS CONCERT!!!!!
He's sexy, he's cursing, he's rocking, off the chain, off the hook, the band, the sound, the performance. Now I know why everyone freaks out about Lovesexy! Ladies, did you wish you were Cat during certain.....moments

I know totally how you feel. When you first hear the drums and the opening to "Erotic City" it just gives me chills. That was truly a great time for Prince's career. And he worked so hard for it...he and his band at the time just seemed to live for making music and preforming. Wish I could have seen that live!

Ladies, did you wish you were Cat during certain.....moments I feel ya, the first time I saw it I was excited and depressed simultaneously. Excited b/c he was at the top of his game, and the energy in that concert is amazing; depressed because I realized I'll never get to see that Prince live. My favorite part is Eye Wish U Heaven ("say hello to the blue angel"). The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

Dont like it - too theatrical - huge stage meaning lots of prancing around, he also seems to leave Miko with a lot of the guitar parts - anyone agree that it was a let down compared to SOTT live? (forgetting that SOTT was largely refilmed and dubbed)

I went to one of the Lovesexy shows in 1988 and it was an experience I will never forget. That's Prince's best tour ever, and it also features his best band.I loved that era!

Ahhhh memories!! I went to it 5 times and I have to say every tour since fell way short (Nude was such a let down!) It was his zenith, and I reckon we will never see the like again - I recently watched it again, still fantastic!

I remember seeing this show..i was 17 yrs old... live @ MSG caught it both nites
this was the second time i saw Prince perform. i missed the Purple Rain tour, cause i was so excited about seeing him that nite that i cut school and my mom came home early and tore those tickets up ( iwas devastated)... but she made up for it by giving me money to go to both of the Parade dates @ MSG.

I was rocking along quite well, then out of nowhere when the Jack U Off/Sister routine hit, I was completely blown away and sat there hooked all the way till the end of the show.

I saw the show here in London and it was by far the best show I've ever been to - I've never shared an atmosphere like that at a concert - The place was just rocking throughout. Fantastic set list and just so much passion - I'm an atheist but I was singing along happily at the end of Anna Stesia. SOTT was cancelled here, but I imagine it was possibly as good, but in a different way. Definitely the best few years I ever had being a music fan '86 - '88.

I liked the "Sign "O" The Times" tour way more than the "LoveSexy" tour, way too many medley's and just not as "intimate" as the SOTT tour, still a nice tour though but both of them got nothing on the "1999" and "Parade" tours... Neversin. O(+>NIИ<+)O

I saw the Worcester show and then I had to see Hartford.. Not a bad seat in the house, it was small arenas.
He converted even the unconverted. It was an experience with all the introludes from past albums and the "cross the line" vocals.. the set list was killer and I loved the basketball court, he never missed a shot! ______________________________________________

I'm sure everyone has their own opinion, but to me this show is a great example of incredible musicianship. The parts I keep watching over again are "When U Were Mine-If I had a Harem", "Sister"-Good lawd that part was crazy. "The Cross" the entire piano medley, "Dirty Mind - , "Controversy", "Head" and that Bob George-Super Cali routine.
As a whole each number delivered a lot of power. I could only imagine those who were there in person. Oh don't get me started again feeling jealous and regretful of not going to this concert.

u and I are the same age then. I saw him in Toronto that year. I had just moved to the city at the time and went by myself and sat way up in the bleachers. had a blast and I knew it was really good, but I was so far away from the stage I didn't really catch what was going on most of the time. I finally saw it again on DVD recently and saw it up close... WOW! what a show! it had everything! it was like a play with fantastic music and guitar solos and sexy dancers and basketball... EVERYTHING! haven't seen anything better since. Good morning Ladies & Gentlemen,

I couldn't go 2 see the show, but I taped it when it was broadcasted on tv.
I've seen him live 6 times but I know I've missed his best tour EVER! These days I have the whole concert on CD and it's one of my all time fav's. (with some of The Birthday-party performances) I really love the second part of the show;Glam Slam/Lovesexy(Europe..let's do something!!),When Doves Cry,Let's go crazy. Also I wish U heaven(I'm looking 4 the funky people)and his best version from The Cross. The piano medley is unforgettable..classic Prince! I think I've played this concert more than a lot of his regular CD's. Same goes 4 the Birthday-concert;AUTOMATIC,I wanna be your lover,Head.. The sound, the band, how he interacts with the crowd.. Love4oneanother

The Lovesxy tour is very special to me, and crucial in some way.
No, I wasn't one of the fortunates to join this concert( I wish I was) but it means the very first image of Prince that I have. The real first one, literally. I was 12 years old by that time, and had never heard of Prince at all, till then. That last concert of the '88 tour, in Dortmund, was broadcasted on some european tv channels, surprisingly, and we were one of the lucky ones. I don't remember have seen the whole concert, probably my parents didn't let me watch it when they saw what was it about (read Head or Superfunkycal... ) but I have some pics of it in my brain, particularly the very first one image, clearly, that isn't exactly from the proper concert but from the advertisements for it. I remember exactly what I thought then, and also what I said to may sister (that was around there with me doing whatever she was doing) at that very concrete moment Something about that little man and his music caught my attention, and I was hooked from then on. Maybe I was a perv in my heart The rest is history, that's how I became "the odd one that listen to Prince(=weird) music all the time" to my friends. Unfortunately, I didn't taped the concert cause didn't know it was going to be so crucial, but anyway it has always been a pretty thing that first memory of Prince in my life. So when I finally got it on dvd, recently I must say, and watched it again... I was ... just can say: AMAZING!! What a great great concert! I love everything on it, the atmosphere, the music, all is sooooo good!! oh and that dancing for Lovesexy! LOVE it

Dortmund wasnt perhaps the best choice of Lovesexy concert to immortalise on commercial video for posterity.
Crucially, Ps guitar broke before "Anna Stesia". . "You don't frighten us, English pig dogs. Go and boil your bottoms, sons of a silly person."

Ah, memories!
I saw it in NYC @ MSG. It was the first few weeks of my freshman year of college. I heard on the radio that Prince was doing a record signing (yes, it was a record!) at Sam Goody record store. I grabbed one of my roommatese and we hot-footed it down there. He was wearing his polka dot suit with his hair blown out. Wow, he was fine. I waited my turn in line and he signed my album jacket. Love, Prince '88.. I just stood there are stared ..not moving my eyes, as I walked out sideways. I can only imagine how crazy I looked. Anyway, the concert was like a dream. My seats weren't fabulous or anything, but what a spectacle. The part where his piano goes up to the ceiling and he's saying, "Do you beleive in God?".. It was so trippy. I remember feeling like this is what it must be like for people in cults. Anyway, I have only 2 regrets about that. 1) That it didn't even occur to me to buy a ticket to see another show, and 2) that I wasn't hip to the afterparty scene... which was in its heyday back then. Oh well! Come here, babe.. yeah...
