Were you also Confused in 1994-1995 for Prince?

I remember it was around my ages 12-13-14 where it was hard for me to defend Prince in these days. He was all fragile, and the music was all crazy and confusing.

I remember telling my mom in the bathroom (on the toilet giggle ), "mommy guess what!? Prince new album is called "Come!"

I heard a short pause and my mom said, "oh lord!"

I had no idea why she said that until I found out what the sexual word meant!!

Anyway all this talk about the Come album make me want that album again, and I realized I only have it on cassette and I need it on CD, my dumb self always lookin past it (dammit!).

But those days were so confusing and hard for a kid like me. And lawd..lets not go to the 1994-1995 gallery

What about u?

It was hard for me to retain my crush on him. He lost way too much weight, his clothes kept getting werider and werider and the hair...blah...plus he just seemed like, kinda mean to me (but it just seemed like he was really depressed or something back then) he was still hot...but he was just going in this bizarre MJ direction.

But the music was really good! biggrin

I lost track of him in the late ninties...I saw him on the News in 2000 when he changed his name back and belive me I took notice! I was like OMG wow...Prince??? He looks gorgous...he looked different to me than from what I remember him looking like in the mid ninties. He looked totally..... drool3

I still respected P during that time but I personally thought he lost his mind. He seemed real confused and unsure of himself during that time. The battle with Warner Bros and the "SLAVE" thing really threw a lot of people for a loop.

Plus his fanbase started to alienate him too. Some fans I knew didn't dig his music and image anymore during that time. The Prince who ruled the world 10 years before in 1984 seemed like a caricture of himself in 1994. Seeing Prince lip-sinch on "Soul Train" might have thrilled a lot of people, but I thought it was a step down for him. I was glad to see him come back to form with "Chaos" and "Emancipation".

I think Prince was the one who was confused. All those bad performances, and lip synching on Soul Train, or dying on David Letterman, with Slave on his cheek and a miserable frown on his face. Too much eye makeup, and the crazy hairdo from hell. Yea, frankly, Prince had a bad few years..lol
All you others say Hell Yea!! woot!

Have you seen him during that press conference paisleypark?? Omg what a gorgous man! Something about his hair, clothes, skin...just came together that day. That is mostly what he looks like when I daydream about him.

Snap

It was a pretty frustrating time. I didn't like him much then. The music was good, but that was about it.

Yes even his demener and additude seemed lifted and just really chill. He looked relaxed and just really cool. He acted like a different person than I remember him acting in the mid ninties. Even on Jay Leno...he seemed kinda nice and happy....I couldn't have seen him like that during the slave years or the D&P years for that matter.

I don't know...he's just my dream man. razz God created the perfect man in him...(well ok I don't really know what he is like...but he created the perfect fantasy man for me!) giggle
