Star Trek: TNG

This is for myself and lovemachine! And of course any of the other Org Trekkies!

Anyhow, Lovemachine, my dear friend, I wanted to know your opinion on something.

IS Wesley Crusher the son of Captain Picard?!

The first time I've ever been mentioned in a thread topic and I am honored.

No Wesley is not the son of Captain Picard although I can easily see why you would have thought this with the implied and not so implied romance betwen Beverly and the Captain.

I found a website that tells the details of Wesley's life in case you want to know more.

Mr. Lovemachine, I know about the life. I know how he was the son of Jack.

But yeah, the implied romance gets you. And on an episode I'd seen several times, and again a couple nights ago(which made me ask this) where Beverly is taken hostage, as well as Picard...Beverly is all, "In case we die, there are things I think you should know..."

I think that she was probably just going to tell him that she had deep feelings for him.

I remember an episode where they were both captured and they were telepathically joined and she saw images and learned that he was attracted to her while she was married to Jack. I think they would have told us more if anything else had been going on.

The new movie is coming December 20 big grin

Hey it's actually a pretty good series. Plus as an added bonus Jolene Blalock is hot!

I missed a bunch of the episdes but from what I saw it has huge potential. The first season was much better then Season 1 of TNG. I was reminded how much better the rest of the series was when I bought season 1 on DVD.

Well I think the all the main characters need a helluva lot more definition, especially the Captain...Sam Beckett or whatever his name is.

Potential...yes. As good as NextGeneration...I dont think so.

Yes I am quoting myself but I was thinking that we are probably talking about the same episode. I think they both learned that they had feelings for each other while she was married while they were linked together.

I also remember an episode where they caught a virus and talked about their mutual attraction to each other.

Is this the episode (the once where they were telepathatically linked) that you are talking about?

To make this thread "Prince related" I am going to say that Prince might have played one of the "Bynars".

If anyone knows who the Bynars are they should be laughing.

They are tiny little creatures who travel in pairs and converse in binary code.

No, lovemachine my friend, I wasn't in reference to that episode.

The one I'm talking about - there's terrorism going on, an away team brings medical supplies to one side. Worf, Data, and the Doctor are having something to drink, when a terrorist strikes...Beverly goes to tend to the wounded. A terrorist leaps in...Argh, and for the life of me I can't remember the process he used...

Kidnaps the Doctor, takes her there, then eventually, kidnaps the Captain.

I think that might be enough for you to get what I'm on about!

I think Prince would be one of those little Ferangi bastards.

I haven't seen all of TNG's episodes, nor Voyager's or DS9, but I like Star Trek. I even watch Enterprise as much as I can.
You asked about Q.
I've always wondered what was meant by Q's comment concerning Guinan. He said that she was a creature who was not what she appeared to be and referred to her as an imp. He held up his hand to do away with her and Guinan held up both hands as if to defend herself with some sort of power-maybe on some level with that of Q's?
She said that some of the Q were actually respectable.
Now Guinan is a mystery to me because of those comments about her. Also because she said her people were scattered by the Borg all across the galaxy.
Yet remember, she was also said to have been in the Nexus.
Then there was the episode where the Enterprise crew met Guinan on earth in the past- during the time of Mark Twain.
So just who or what the heck is Guinan? A big purple eggplant?

Another thing that puzzles me is how all the very powerful and omnipotent beings from the original series on up through DS9 never really interacted with one another. Don't the Q have any equals or adversaries even? This would be good ground to explore. Of course, I've never read all the pocket books so just what stories in the Star Trek franchise have been told in print is a mystery to me.

And how about this!

How did Yar really die! In one episode, Guinan's all "we should have never met" and she goes on a ship to help out, and dies. Ya know.

And then in one episode, where Data meets up with Yar's sister, it is said Yar died a meaningless death from the Crystalline entity...So which is it?!
