What a cold-blooded song

I know i said i loved you
I know i said i needed you
I know i said that i'd be here always
But what i didn't tell you is that
This year the Latest Fashion is to
Lie in the heat of passion

I love this song, but when you listen to the beginning it is really cold-blooded. Only Prince could get away with a song like this

Yeah I noticed those lines too. Always got the feeling that Prince was saying it sux when people do that. Not like he was advocating it or anything.

Yeah, after all, the song is sung by The Time who are presented in the movie as being cynical and evil and only out for personal gain. It's Prince writing with the mindset of the Morris Day character, not his own.

Well, the Morris Day "character" came straight out of Prince's psyche. It represents a part of him. The same part that wrote "Strange Relationship" and some other cold-sexay shit.

Is it me or did the room just get darker?
Is it me or did I just lay down and die?
Is this a dream or did the world just crumble at my very feet?
How in heaven will I ever be alright?

I was just going to add this...but yeah even if Prince does that to a woman...I'm sure he was also saying he doesn't like it when a woman does that to him.
