Prince's religious backgroud? What is it? I'm just curious.
After listening to Purple Rain a lot lately, it *JUST* hit me that I would die for you, is in direct correlation w/Jesus' life. It makes direct references to the book of JOHN all the way through the song. Its obvious that Prince must a been raised a Christian. Since Purple Rain was pretty early on in his career, and you don't just gain knowledge of the bible over night. Well, you could.....but while filming Purple Rain, and at the "height" of his career, I doubt it! It's like he was a regular at Sunday school in his youth. Anyways, I guess I'm just confused at how one day you believe Jesus is the Messiah, to NOT believing, as strongly as he does. Thoughts/Opinions/Facts?

NOT believing in what? That Jesus is the Messiah? JW's believe in Jesus and that he is the Messiah. Just confused as to what you are asking? [Edited 5/3/06 20:20pm] If u and I were just ten feet closer, then I'd make u understand

Yeah, the question is rendered rather irrelevant by the fact that JWs DO believe Jesus is the Messiah... (I am JW, incidentally.)
Anything more is, as the lady says, a P&R topic.

Oh my bad, I apologize (REALLY) I thought they believed he was a prophet, but NOT son of God.
Anyway, so that this doesn't get moved, this is NOT about what JW's believe. Just a question about Prince. What's his religious background?

[Edited 5/3/06 20:20pm] uh, JWs do not believe that Jesus is the Son of God.[/quote] uh, yes they do. Apologies, i screwed up. lemme correct myself. In the Bible in various places God the Father and God the Son are mentioned. Now, I ain't no Bible scholar and I have never been a JW, and really I've only known 3 JWs personally. But my point is that JW's do not put Jesus on a level which is equal to God. Even though in the Bible the scripture refers to God the Father AND God the SON. That, to most Christians at least means that Jesus and Jehovah (and the Holy Spirit, too now) are all God. This is the Triune God (Trinity). I hope I spelled Triune right. I don't think JW's believe in the trinity. They do not worship Jesus (at least the 3 JW's I met don't). This would be, in my admittedly uneducated opinion, where Christians and JW's differ the most. I think it may be the only difference but it is an enormous difference.
