You're exactly right comparing it to a piece of art. TRC is art. Prince said before the album was released, that it was ment to be listened to in its entirety. I know what he means now, it's not just because of the storyline, but the music itself tells a story almost. It has yet to get old in my book. Everytime I put it in, it's like new again. Prince is touching on a 'goldmine'...

Nowadays, a song comes out and, it's old in a week. I still play some of Prince's music from the 80's, not just because they were commercial hits, because I haven't gotten tired of them.

Prince dips his music in water from the fountain of youth before he releases them. We've only seen the beginning cool

Most People would of thought I was tripping on something if I said Steelee Dan would win Album of the year. Especially if I mentioned it early that year. I actually was thrown back about that, maybe they really do pay attention to musicanship. If Prince could win a grammy for an Album, would'nt that be a good foot hold on a comeback.

Wasn't the album released in November of last year meaning it already wasn't nominated for a Grammy?

I dont get it either. Do you actually read the lyrics that the voice is saying? What is the problem? Get over it.

I have long oversooome the sadnes I felt that this album will not be remembered or recognized at Grammy time. I defy anyone to find a better pop album out right now. That includes U2 and some other very good but overrated acts. This is easily one of the best records that Prince has ever made if it is not THE best. He should have received the album of the year award

Lyrically, muscially, technically...a masterpeice in every way. It tells me that great art doesnt age or fade. Therein lie sthe true power of art: it lasts 4ever and touches you in many times over many years in many ways.

I agree with Face. Amazing how this album has still not worn on me. I go back and forth with what my favorite song is. At first it was She Loves Me for Me, then it was The Last December, then the title cut TRC and now Everlasting Now. Family Name kicks my ass too.

The Everlasting Now is an amazing jam. I constantly rewind when Prince say "Johnny B-Well bring the beat." He brings the beat sho nuff. A longer drum solo might have worked there. Maybe it's too much to ask for perfection though on an album I already consider a masterpiece.

The guitar on the album is amazing...though I get the feeling he never really cuts loose. The part of the Last December when it picks up as a rock anthem should go on for at least another minute!

How about a TRC remix album? That might be akin to digitizing Star Wars though...leave it alone. Would still be better than the Rave remix though.

Mission accomplished.

Anywho, I could see how some are annoyed by the voice, and then I think to myself that it only seems to be in about a third of all the songs on the album, aside from a segue or two. The voice is like an afterthought for me, it never overshadows the return to form.

And uhhh, no Grammy. Forget that. It's not on a major label or distributed by one. And Grammy voters are notoriously out of touch anyway. They rarely get it right.

I still give TRC a spin at least once a week. It's definately in my top 5 Prince albums. And why is everyone still tripping on "Wedding Feast," it's funny as hell, and I think that was the point.

I thought that TRC missed the deadline to eligable for the Grammy last year but would be eligable this year. I figured Prince did that on purpose. Now he should release another Masterpiece before the deadline in November. I think NPG RECORDS just has to pay a fee to the Academy so the albums will be recognized. I think if Prince keeps putting out quality albums like TRC he will get his just due. This is the best scenerio for success, if only it could happen.

Ive listened to it so much and it is still sounding new! Its weird. It is wonderful, I love this album. It's defo in my top 3, but as its getting so much playing, its no.1 right now. When I play some of my other faves, it will fluctuate chart position.

Love it.
