The 00's........

.....Is turning into my favourite era for the music,

ONA - piano and voice - is just a master piece..
Rainbow children - My favourite prince album, nuff said
Musicology - has sum classics
N.E.W.S - i love north and west
3121 - The word, te amo corazon, fury, love, the dance - nuff said

Im thinking of just stop listening to the 80's and 90's prince for a long while, and just listen to the 00's because it is very underrated....

I guess a big factor is I didn't like Rainbow Children at all. I don't care for the ideology or the narration. That effects how much I enjoy One Night Alone.

Chocolate Invasion and Slaughterhouse have made some nice tidings for this decade. It's hard for me to listen to some of the older stuff, cuz it's been played SO much.

i see your point Andy.
I really do.

And to be honest with you.....I kind of agree.

Its been a great decade so far.
Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!
woot!

i enjoy TRC a great deal too - but it's strong stuff, and i have to put it aside now & then.

musicology hasn't left my car, and 3121 is playing more often than not.

i like this era too. got rather alienated as a fan around the buttless pants period... TRC brought me back. smile

i think a better division in his music is:

1981-1983

1985-1987

1993-1995

2001-2003

with some of his 'best' albums falling
between the gaps of periods, such as
Lovesexy and Purple Rain which are in
a way more transition albums to a new
era of creativity.

imo, Musicology started a new era and
3121 is a (healthier) continuation of
that. i expect one more album like it
and then it's off to something else.
