There's a song that makes me go like that:

Baby, if U only knew
All the love, want a love that's deep in my heart
Ooh baby, bein' here with U
Wouldn't be nothin' could tear us apart
Alright, uh, every night
Cool surrender, lost in your arms
U, U'll be surprised
Doin' it in the cuffs, sound your alarm
Baby, gonna take a walk
Think I'm gonna take a sexual suicide

man, it was insanity. by 1995 i used to have these days where it
got stuck in my head, on a loop. i would step out of the train
and by the time i'd walked to school i would still be murmuring;
"take this bass, i can't play it", lol.

people would ask me "what the hell IS that you're whispering all
the time". then i'd put my headphones on their ears and they'd
be all 'ewwww, what's this shit than?'

sad

Sorry, it´s not Nu-Metal, but really cool.
The closest Prince came to metal was the solo of ´Family Name´ on TRC. It reminds me a lot of Living Colour´s great Vernon Reid

what the hell is Nu-Metal. I think a metal fan would B-Slap you for just uttering the words...Nu-Metal.

But in vein of the conversation...Nothing is different NOW including What's My Name, Endo Machine, Fury, that he didn't do back in the day with Bambi. He still rocked out on that one. Not all the way...but still that song is to be reconed with.

Don't you think metal heads would have respect for the energy of the song? This song is truly one of the most slammin tracks Prince has ever laid to sound lol

No, I don't. Mainly because metal heads would probably laugh off Prince. My opinion is that most metal heads are purists...meaning you either are metal or you are not. And I am sure the notion of P even involved in the equation would make most metal heads hair get all tizzed.

Let's flip it around...do you think Prince listens to metal? He may have heard Metalica's (Talk about Nu-Metal) "Black Album" but do you think he's listened to lets say a TRUE Metal album like "Crash Course in Brain SUrgery" or Mega Death's Master of Puppets? Probably not.

Probably not but listening to the shit at the end of 3 chains of gold makes me wanna see a deathmatch between Prince and a metal guitarist biggrin

This metalhead thinks the song kicks ass but is in no way even close to anything metal.

I don't even know what nu-metal is. I do know that there have only been a handful of metal bands that have come out since the early ninties that I consider good. Maybe not even a handful.

There's a lot of metalhead musicians that I know that love Prince and have cited his work like "Purple Rain", "Chaos & Disorder", and "The Undertaker" as P's cool guitar CD's.

Do any of u guys seem 2 know wat Nu Metal is? Cause Metallica arn't Nu Metal, mayb St Anger could b classed as Nu Metal, but thats it the rest of their stuff is just Metal.
Nu Metal is stuff like Disturbed's early work, fast, distorted everything metal is but without the solos

I just visited the song again yesterday...you are correct..not even close to metal. He has many other songs that are more guitar driven that that song (I hear a lot of blaring...but I can't tell if it IS guitar)
